I just picked mine up. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Some of the songs have a new sound to them. But most of them remind me of how they sounded wayy back in the day when they were called "Hybrid Theory". Took me a couple times to listen to the CD for it to grow on me. I had mixed feelings the first time listening, but now it sounds real good.

Chester: "There's still a hip-hop element to us, and there'll always be," he says. "But we've really moved away from anything that sounds like nu-metal. I know that we kind of helped create, I guess, the sound of that genre, but I hate that genre. I'm not going to speak for everyone, but I can personally tell you that I am not a big fan of almost everybody in that category. There are a few bands that I don't really believe belong in there, and we're one of those bands."

My fav. songs from the album:

"leave out all the rest" (track 3)
"What I've done" (track 6)
"No More Sorrow" (track 8) good instrumentals
"Valentine's Day" (track 9)

Only cost 9 bucks at Circuit City. Don't dl it support LP!

I liked their past albums, but I have to say I didn't care for this album. Linkin Park was good lifting music for me, and with the exception of a couple of songs, the CD makes me want to fall asleep, not lift.

Out of the whole CD, the only songs that made the cut to go on the iPod were Given Up, Bleed it Out, and No More Sorrow.

Basically, Chester didn't use his signature scream/singing enough in the album IMO.

Im willing to bet its not as good as this album though. The names are very similar. Did they do that on purpose?

Of course the Maiden album is better...too bad most people who like Linkin Park not only have never heard of Iron Maiden, but they don't have the stones to listen to anything that remotely resembles heavy music.

Yea, maiden ****ing rocks. I havent listened to LP in years though. Ever since Fallout boy and Mike jones I have pretty much given up on new music. It pretty much Pink floyd, Rush, Iron maiden, and led Zeppelin for me.

i might have to give this a listen though.

I listened to the whole CD today and I'm not really a fan. It's too bad because I loved all their other CD's.

IMO, Iron Maiden is not heavy music to me. To each his own.

I agree...

Hybrid Theory was so full - each song felt like it's own contribution on the album. It was complete, and usually common for a first album, the band giving it their all.
Meteora was just a hopped up adrenalin version of that... with even more to offer. By far one of my favourite albums of all time.

This album is like a band's first album gone wrong. Like they didn't really have too much to work with, but a song or two leaked out that was really well done. (in this case, just one for me)
Very typical in today's standard album releases... a song or two that carries the rest.
I could never listen to the entire album again, I'd fall asleep.

Yeah, I agree the songs are a lot slower. The songs have a "My December" sound to them.

Meteora was their best album. I wanted to hear the usual LP but before I listened to the CD, I already heard all of the rumors of their "new sound". So I guess i've just learned to love it cause LP is my fav. band.

I wanted to hear Hahn's record scratching.
