Hey guys a friend of mine just bought a 2000 Mustang gt and is wondering how he can tell if it's been messed with before he bought it. Is there any way to tell if it's had computer tuning done to it? What are some of the good mods for these motors? Thanks.

dunno about checking for mods on the comp. already, but as far as mods to do go, alot of people here will recommend gears (3.73's, 4.10's, etc. [although not technically an engine mod]), shifter like MGW, exhaust setups, tuner maybe?

At least it's more erect and not floppy anymore.

3.73's if auto and 4.10's if 5 speed. Tuner, am mufflers, o/r mid pipe, air filter drop in. If you want real power and have the money go FI.

Thanks for the info. I've been searching around and have seen some of these mods. The stock rear is a 3.27 I believe so the step to 3.73's should make quite a difference. Thanks again.

Yup, 3.73s are a good step up. As others have said, exhaust, remove your air silencer, put a K&N in, and get a 91 or 93 oct custom tune from MPH. Those are very good mods and will make your car much more fun to drive. With those mods you can expect around 30 rwhp gain but with the gears it will feel more like 50 rwhp. Other then those mods the only other thing would be suspension and that’s it till you want to go FI.
