So after 16 wonderful years, the opportunity and time came to say farewell to the ‘03 GT. After a year of contemplation, I decided to bite the Bullitt (pardon the pun) and do what made me happy for a change. If this one can still put a smile on my face 2 decades from now, like my GT, then I know I have fun times ahead.
Man what a difference 16 years of engineering and technology can make!! It's a fully upgraded model with the exception of the Recaro seats. I didn't want the Recaros because you have to weigh less than 180 and still be young enough that your nutz have yet to drop to get into those things. I opted for comfort and heated/cooled seats. For me it's a big change going from a tuned 275hp GT to about 475hp in the Bullitt. I am still working on getting used to difference in the feel of the pedals. They feel more like a gaming system as far as resistance is concerned, yet still feel solid. Compared to the 03 tooling around town, the Bullitt feels more like a Cadillac. Such a smooth ride with the magneride system, going to have to put it through it's paces later, once I get accustomed to the feel of the car. The exhaust is like music to my ears. The videos on the internet don't even come close to doing it justice. Compared to anything I've ever owned before, I'd go out of my way to drive through a tunnel or under a bridge. There are all kind of lighting features and dash layouts. The best one I like is the 100% digital instrument cluster. There are lights in the footwells, door levers, cupholders that match the cluster color. I think the color can be changed to the driver's preference but not sure how to change that yet.
I'll have to get some quick snaps of the engine as well. If there are any questions or things anyone wants me to snap a pic of, just ask. I won't mind and I'll post it here.

The multi-colored mood lighting is sooo 2011.
Yes, my '11 GT did have that package, I liked it too. I hardly ever got to use the 420-ish HP in mine, not sure I'd notice another 50 HP.
How's the response on the throttle? Mine was smooth and easy to control up to about 50% power. Above 50% it rapidly increased the power! It was like an increasing curve for throttle delivery.

Seems I may not have that option. Not seeing it in the manualThe multi-colored mood lighting is sooo 2011.

I see a lot of stuff my generation will probably never use, but for what I do use, the layout/features has me covered. You will have to let us know what you think of all the cockpit controls meow then in a week or so and then a month.

To channel Steve McQueen you will need to burn tire flavored incense during the seance.
Time for a short burn out video.....

Get me some new replacement tires and i'll make it happen. LOL.I wanna see black tire tracks in the asphalt for about a block!
Perhaps when the tires are due for replacement. I've been reading about some of the capabilities of the settings available and for drag mode, it requires a complete oil change for running drag track conditions. They don't tell you this in the sales room at the dealership. To channel Steve McQueen you will need to burn tire flavored incense during the seance.

An oil change!?!
I guess we have to wait till some of the 'new car smell' dissipates and an oil change before you do the burnout we all know your going to do eventually.
She is a pretty girl. Congrats!
Not just any general maintenance oil change. From what I read, it requires a different oil weight for running 1/8 and 1/4 miles. After the track event the oil should be drained again and replaced with oil suitable for daily driving. An oil change!?!

I ran my '11 a couple times just for giggles. Stock crappy all-season tires, full weight and not much technique, it ran 12.9 @ 110 mph 1/4-mile!
This was when Challengers were running mid-14's.

Damn fine lookin' ride.
If you ever find yourself longing for the old GT back, I'd be willing to trade.
