New in the 4.6 world. Helping a friend out on some research on performance mods for the Modular 2v W/PI heads.

So far he's done Mac cold air, C&L upper, 75mm TB, Cut outs on stock Hpipe.

Next on the list is gears. What seems to be the most popular ratio for the A4's? 1/4 performance not freeway!!!

FYI: Patriots ported PI's are in the near future also...

Thanks in advance!!

410s are a bit much for power adders, but great NA. Personally, I'd spend $1500 more and get a blower, versus the heads. Some people have complaints about patriot. Most go with VT engine heads.

Where the heck do you get a blower for $1500??

Why are 4.10's to much for heads and Cams? I heard there the first things to do to these Mustangs.

Ill look into the VT heads package though.

I was comparing the blower to the heads. I meant you could save $1500 more and buy a blower. My entire setup was $2700, tuned on the dyno. I even got a custom FMIC, 42lb injectors, 90mm LMAF, powerpipe, everything.

410s are not too much for heads and cams. but once you throw in boost or juice, traction will be a b1tch.

look into MPH. They have excellent results out of their heads & cams, & of course their mongoose s/c kits are 2nd to none, imo

as far as the gear, like 98 said it depends on your plans for the car. i prefer 4.10's, even with my blower. i just put some 28's on when i go to the track & i don't drive fast on the street, so it's not really a problem for me

Check out the classifieds section on here. Sometimes you see them for around $1,500 or a little more. Used of course.

A++++ One of the owners...Tim Barth... Tuned my car. Once N/A , and the second after the turbos.

Oh and if you look at what 98 said, he said "1500 MORE" as in 1500 + 1200 for the heads = blower.

if he wants some cheap power, tell him to get an O/R X pipe..that will help. But overall the best thing you can do is just save for some form of forced induction (turbo, blower)...or you can go nitrous if you cant save money very well.

BTW I should know...my car was a full bolton cammed GT making 292RWHP and going 12.79 @ 108.8 in the 1/4 mile. All the boltons helped me out then and now, so I dont regret them at all. They helped me get to know my car in the very least.
I recommend doing at least a few boltons (cheap) to get you familure with your car, and because they will help you when you get supercharged. Just avoid a CAI (cold air intake) if your going with a turbo or centri blower, avoid LT headers if your going to go turbo, and avoid U/D pulleys if your going with ANY type blower. That way you wont be throwing away any money, like I did. ($500 for my headers, and $150 for my JLT intake)
