no nos, cauley wasnt doing a burnout and I told him to light em up once and it dead hooked on that run, When we got the tires hot on both the cars they came alive in the 60ft, i didnt bring my 86 or 90 mainly cuz ive never taken them on that long of a drive and was kind of skeptical, btw nobody was hookin worth crap anyway, hell the skylines were runnin 15's at best!! and then that dam f250 was roasting the tires at the 1/8th mile, literally smoke coming off them motha's. all in all they needed to get some dr's or slicks for traction, and they would have been in the 13's easily. and the craziness of puttin two 6ft guys in teh back of the car to catch traction LOL

Sounds like fun, but I have to say I dont see a 2.2 as learning how to launch anything. Coming off idle on 245/45/17 Falkens in my one and only street tire appearance I was going 2.0s all day. Just get some more practice and you should be good!

Makes me want to race very soon!

I'm on255s and I think had I stayedlonger I'd have run better, But I got homelateenough as is. But yeah I was launching off of idle and the only ones I got it to hook decently was when I heated emup.

Do you dump the clutch or ride it a little? I dont have a lot to add, Ibasically spun them for a few seconds in 1st, sat there at idle revved like a stop light and left harder than normal. Had my foot down through part of first and then no problems in the other gears!

How are your powershifting skills. Quick shifts alone are worth as much as .2-.3 tenths.

The best 60ft i ever landed was a 2.0 on 245 245 17's . I reved the engine and launched at about 1300 rpms and it just hooked.. It was the best run i ever had with the car before i sold it. The rest of that night sucked and i never got it to hook right again..

Real quick defense.. i was doing nothing but spinning all the way up to 3rd. didnt matter what i did i couldnt hook. i could leave at idle and slowly get into it and as soon as i put the pedal dowm i would see smoke. i need better tires.

I have to disagree for the most part. Although playing with the air pressure a couple of pounds in either direction might improve times a little depending on track temp/prep/driving style, dropping tire pressure excessively on a street radial (like you would on a D/R or Slick) will reduce its effective contact patch. The side walls and casing are too hard to get the wrinkle effect you would from a race oriented tire, so dropping pressure excessively does nothing at all in that sense. What it does do is cause the centre of the tire to “bow” in the middle under the vehicle weight, reducing your contact patch with the ash vault….which hurts your 60ft times even more so.
