I'm new to this forum. Does anyone make 16 or 17 inch x 8 or 9" 10 spoke mag that I can get a 9-10 inch tire on my 68 mustang without
cutting anything?
Lol, seriously, though with the right backspacing you can fit decent rubber under the '67-'68 cars. If you're not familiar with the process, jack your car up, remove a wheel. Use a framers square and lay it on a level floor against the leaf spring. Measure from the leaf spring out to the closest part of the fender lip where a tire might rub. I think it's around 13" (give or take) on these cars. That means a 10" should fit. Now measure from surface where the wheel mounts (brake drum) back to the spring. Lets say you get 8" ( for example) from leaf to brake drum face, subtract about 1-1/2" for clearance and you'll get 6-1/2". That means that a 10" wheel with 6-1/2" back space should fit. These measurements are just random numbers, but that's how I measure for wheels. If you want the tire closer to the outside lip, add or subtract backspace as needed. Measure twice, order once.
