LX seats were considerably lighter than GT seats.

I never picked up a LX seat; well since the "sport" seats dont hold you in anyway, why not put them in and save the weight.

But its funny to see those flat seats in whats supposed to be a road course race car.

Yeah i guess my terminology is a bit off...but i figured people know what i mean when i say LX and GT seats.

From what i understand the idea behind the seats was more along the lines that they expected a customer who planned to race it to put his own choice of racing seats in, so putting the cheap seats in was a cost cutting measure. But, they do weigh a lot less.

^^^I was trying to be sarcastic with the "sport" quote, because we know they suck as sports car seats.

Clean, rare and nice....

But a waste of a mustang other than being a museum piece.

Yep, and it has a power steering cooler in place of the driver side fog light.

About the lawsuit:

IIRC, the run of '93 Cobra Rs was only supposed to be 100 vehicles, but there was a pretty big uproar over how the vehicles were allocated to the SVT dealers. I believe a lawsuit against FoMoCo came into play and they basically settled upon extending the run of R models by 7 vehicles (taking the place of 7 of the "regular" Cobras for the model year)... if you look at the final numbers for '93, there were 4,993 Cobras and 107 R models, so the math kinda makes sense... plus, with this car being #103, it *technically* wasn't supposed to be built, so I'm guessing that's what he's referring to when he says "lawsuit paperwork."

So people were sueing cause they couldnt get one or were the dealerships sueing because they thought they deserved one? I thought the lawsuit was because of them building more then 100

Found it!
They were called the "Colorado Lawsuit Cars". They were produced after the regular run of R's. There are some differences in the welds and subframes etc...The cars were made only because of a lawsuit by a dealer in Colorado.

The lawsuit cars are only the last 7.

Ford took 107 orders, but only intended to build 100 cars. The lawsuit forced FoMoCo to build the 'extra' 7 cars, according to my research.

If i were Jay Leno i would've already bought it and have it in my collection

Would i buy it if i had to take out a loan? No...even if Wall Street was in great shape. I think they're awesome cars and will be highly collectable, but there's just not enough "badass" about the '93s for me to go into debt to get it. If i were filthy rich, sure why not? I'd much rather have a '95 or '00, even though i'm more of a '79-93 guy.

Meh????

Not that impressed with the car. I can appreciate the rarity of it and the excellent condition of that one, but that only makes for a nice collector car.

Honestly, if I had HALF of what he was asking for that car, I'd prefer a regular '93 Cobra. Throw a blower on it, some 3.73's, subframes, rear control arms and be done with it.

When so many of our regular Fox bodies have been "enhanced" to the point where they would beat an "R", it has lost some of it's luster for me. I never really considered the '93 Cobra R as blowing the doors off the competition anyway.

But, that's just me....and I don't have half of what's he's asking for it

I agree, a nice example of a mint car, but there are tons of other stangs I'd rather have, from multiple years too.

I'd buy it, rip the plastic off, ask the owner for a trash barrel to put it in and do a hole shot up the street and off into the sunset

didn't sell, the highest bid was $80,001.00. unless he has a change of heart and contacts the highest bidder it goes back into the collection. The 93R has it's place in the fox history books, I'm not sure it's $80grand worth..well to me anyway.
