Im tryin to decide if i want a charger or nitrous. With n2o you have the power at a push of a button but its not there if you need it in a split second (you know showing off ). And a charger is always making power and it also has that cool whistle that can scare the crap outta otherdrivers. But with the charger I would probly have to do a little more work to compensate. And then we come to the price Paxton Novi 1000 6-8 lbs $1600 roughly and NOS fogger tunable 75-150 shot around $600 give or take. What would yall do and is there anyhting im over looking?

You are overlooking a big thing, when it comes time to refill. You can refill your bottle 25 times to make up the extra cost of the blower(1000 difference,$40a fill).

Nitrous is a bit harder to tune than a blower due to its all or nothing nature.
In your case I would suggest the blower, with 6-8 psi there isn't much that would need to be done(depending on your mods) and would probably be included in the kit.
If you were going for an all out drag car, then I would suggest the nitrous.

if you are making 270 FWHP now, with 6psi you'd have 365, 397@8psi.

my mods are in my sig, and I was leaning tward a charger anyway. But no this is a daily driver that I race on the weekends, and probly never will be a drag car. But all the stuff I have in my sig is on the car except for the intake and heads they will be put on next week. Im HOPEING that this car will be in the mid to low 8's in 1/8 mile track i race on. Oh I forgot to tell you this is a aod car.

I got a 86 that runs 7.90 in the 1/8 mile with an almost stock motor (intake, exhaust, etc.) on a dry 150 shot. The nitrous is much better that the blower for the power. Besides, if you make $25 extra a mouth you can affored to fill the bottle. You won't notice the "coast build-up" over time. Plus the nitrous is alot easier on a stock 5.0. You can do alot of damage with a blower too so it not like it a "safe" choise. Plus you got thing about every thing else you got to buy with a blower. I would by a NOS 75-150 Dry Kit,225lph fuel pump,an ajustable fuel regulator, and a good timing light. This is stuff you next with a blower any how and it will make more power anyhow. Put 4:10 gears in if you don't already have them. Run the 150 shot, fuel pressure at 40-42psi,and 8-10 int. timing. That should get you into the LOW EIGHTS. One more thing, the nitrous will make huge torque and power at ALL RPM's.

Id go with the Supercharger. I might offend some guys but i think nitrous is sorta like cheating. With the S/C the power is always there. No refilling. My vote goes for a S/C

go with the n2o and if you wanna show off. just get a purge kit. that nice little spray outta your cowl will scare ppl too. and 40 is not bad for a refill

Supercharger. NO2 Sucks why pay for a mod and have to keep paying for it when you need to refill the bottle. I want to buy something, bolt it on and be done w/ it. A supercharger is no more harmful to a motor then NO2 as long as it is tuned right. Plus the whine of a SC is alot more cool then the purge of NO2

ok now if i ran a S/C then would yall buy a blow off valve? I know most of the time you put them on turbos but Vortec sells one. And it fits on Paxtons and Vortecs since theyre the same co now. The reason being is Ive heard that having a S/C and reving the motor is hard on rods, valves, etc.... And having a blow off would release the extra boost that is not needed. Has any one used one? Just a thought ...... Trying to learn as much as possible.

You don't want a blow off valve, you want a bypass valve. A blow off valve will vent air that has already been metered where a bypass valve just recirculates the air through the blower. If you're new to superchargers reading this may answer some questions.

Get the blower and then run a small shot of NOS. Now you have both. The small shot will act like an intercooler. Don't get crazy with the NOS or KABOOM!

I have cars with both. NOS is awsome when working correctly and the bottle is full. My supercharger is awsome when ever I pound the throttle. you don't get the cool factor with NOS but a nice shiny blower always gets the thumbs up.

Nitrous,cheating? Bull $h!t
Nitrous is no more "cheating" than your big S/C's,blowers,and turbo's.
We gotta pay for power just like you, and I think that the nitrous is just a better way of spending the same money. That's my opinion and if you don't like it fine, but not every one can afford a supercharger for a "bolt-on"!

I am going to say N2O because you just won't get the power you are looking for with a blower unless you go higher than 9psi. Not saying 9psi wouldn't make power but not the same amount as juice. Stock 5.0's with forged pistons will take a 150 shot all day long from what I have heard.

Then again the spray is when you hit the button. What if you are out, or leave the bottle out or off? That's when that cocky SOB with the F-body is going to mess with you. That won't happen with a blower, unless I guess you throw a belt. Spray will be a sudden hit of power, which will break the tires loose at any lower speeds, and nitrous backfire is a muther.

Maby N20 isn't cheating, maby it is, but I'll say one thing, you'll get alot of "try that without your bottle" then what??? I met this guy that thought he was king$h*t with a 150 shot on a notchback. He raced a bunch of N/A F-bodies and couldn't take them even spraying. Then he ran out, then he got beat by buslenghts and they ragged on him sooo bad. Saying "baby's nothing without it's bottle"

How about TURBO???

I have a shiny vortech s trim doing 8lbs of boost and the sound is insane, instant hard on and people look at me wierd like my air conditioning pully is whacked. This car is fast man. I have never had nitrous, just seems impractible since i drive in CA traffic and you cant really street race around here. When I am cruising at 10 mph through town, everyone can still hear the blower and my car gets mad props because of it. Even the cops walking on the strip are drooling over my car when I pass by.
