I am trying to plan for my spring mods. I have always wanted to play with nitrous, but never have. I would like to put a kit on my 00 gt. Nothing huge just prob 100. I have read that there is an issue with the plastic intake. Can anyone elaborate for me? Also should I be looking at a plate kit or just the standard kit and tap into the cold air kit?

The problem is that a nitrous backfire in the intake will most likely shatter it.

Consider a good quality kit from a known supplier, such as Edelbrock's #70405. You shouldn't have problems with something like that.

I really prefer NX or Zex, as long as you get Window Switch and other goodies you will be fine. A properly setup nitrous system with all safety parts should have no problems on any car, as long as its tuned and/or suppy enough fuel not to lean it out.

I was looking at the NX plate kit. Am I right with figuring on a window switch, purge valve, and bottle heater.

Im running a NX kit in my 2000 mustang gt. Definatly make sure you have a cold air intake. MSD window switch and bottle heater is a must have. Ive not had any problems with my setup but you have to be careful with it. I would go with the 10 lb bottle and im running a 75 shot but if your using it as a everyday driver then keep with a 75 shot to keep from hurting the engine when you run nos through it. You can buy bigger pills as well. Get a bottle opener.
