on my 89 coupe it is in the trunk on the left side of the latch behind the panel. you should see yours in pretty much the same place. basically on the inside of the hatch/trunk behind the drivers side tail light panel.

just press the button to reset it.

this is all the schematic on the fuel pump circuit (top of diagram, esp the top left).
http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/images/fuel-alt-links-ign-ac.gif

i dont know what to tell you anymore - it should be in one of those two places.

for others, here is his first thread (background info):

im really out of ideas. since your inertia switch has no juice, im thinking you have a problem up stream of the FP relay (i think the wire for the inertia switch comes from the EEC relay).

good luck, bud.

thanks for your replys. ok i know its the fuel pump now i used the start up bottle and sprayed into the tb and it turned over for a quick second. ok i traced the wires from the back of my car to the front and no relay at all i looked all over toar my car apart. if its in the engine bay could someone please post a pic of where yours is located on a 92+ mustang. one more thing is it possible to make the fuel pump run manually so i can at least drive it to a shop to have it fixed??? thanks for all the help

ok, now im confused. you said, "ok, i know its the fuel pump now."

do you literally mean the fuel pump (i dont think so), or do you mean the fuel delivery system (i think the latter).

cuz your inertia switch having no juice means there is no way your FP could be energizing. and now i re-read and saw that you want to jump the pump to get it to the shop. so nevermind about my question above - you just confused me with the phrasing.

here is a thread in which the poster (Hawaiian50) has a 92. you might try to PM him and ask him where the relay is exactly.
http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=4200738

i think it is under the air inlet tube, where you have been looking. if you pop yours off, you should see it for sure. it may be kinda buried. you could also chase the wiring harness off the pass side - it has to go to the relay, if the FP relay is in the engine compartment.

on your other thread, find Jrichker's long post with the no start checklist. he has a link to the mustang works. on that article, IIRC, about 1/5 of the way down the page, there is a little pic of the self test connector. in the end of the paragraph below it, there is a sentence about grounding the FP terminal. as i recall, this sends ground that the puter should be doing (to energize the FP relay). might be worth a try.

good luck, Mathew.

Hey Matt,

I had the same problem with my 92 a few dayz ago. I had just installed a 255 pump and the next day nuthin'. I jumped the pump to make sure it was ok and she worked. My relay was the culprit. Look near your MAF on the fender / shock tower for 2 identical relays, maybe mounted. (mines weren't due to Cervini ram air box) It lookz like 2 little black boxes that have 4 wires runnin in from the harness and capped at the end. If ya send me your e-mail I can shoot you pics of what they look like. I swapped one with the other and the car runz fine now. The other relay is a cutout for your A/C @ WOT
Hope this helpz!

so i saw - you da man! i know he will appreciate it. he has been workin on it for days (3 threads worth). we have all been there and done that. getting help is the hard part (and i dont know where the relay is, though i figured it was by the WOT relay. but if he is tearing the puter out to find relays.......). suffice to say, i know he will really appreciate your help!
thanks bruddah!
