I've noticed that the pulley system on the 4.6 is very noisy! It sounds like a bad water pump bearing but when I check it it seems like all the pulleys/tensioners are making that same noise. Is this common?

Theres a reason for your noise. Find and fix.

I have seen some 2V's noisy. I put a new idler on it. (The one with no grooves) That fixed it. Then, a couple months later the same car got a bad tensioner. Put on a new one..problem solved.

Hmmmmmm.......so the tensioners are prone to going bad huh? What's weird is I only have 14K on the motor. I'm going to remove the belt and spin each pulley by hand to see if it makes that grinding noise.
BTW since I'm going to have the belt off I might as well remove the A/C compressor since I don't use it anymore. Does anyone know what size belt I will need?

Good luck.

14K is low, but sometimes a cars worst enemy is sitting. Spinning each pulley is a great method to find what pulley is bad. That is how I found out.

That UPR belt kit..... That is a marketing gimmick. When you don't use the A/C, the compressor does not eat up any HP. It is simply a free spinning pulley. When you use the A/C, the clutch locks and spins with the pulley, and robs HP. Under WOT, the A/C shuts off anyways until you let off the gas......Save your hard earned money!!

Thanks for the info!

I want to remove the compressor since the car didn't have a working A/C when I bought it and since I want it to be mostly a track car I don't really need it so, to save a few pounds, I figure I could remove the A/C compressor.

I guess I'm going to have to loosen the belt and check all the pulleys, idlers and tensioners to see which one is the culprit! What sucks is that when I was looking to see if I could visually find where the noise was coming from I guess I didn't close the hood all the way and this morning it opened up on me at around 40 and bashed the windshield!
I just got done replacing the windshield but I still need to find another '03 GT hood. Any ideas where I can find a silver one cheap?
