Hello guys i have a noise coming from the rear end area that only happens when i turn right or left in my circler drive way that is some what inclined, i have looked and looked over, have installed a new aluminume drive shaft with new universal joints and yoke, and changed the fluid in the differental but still happens specialy when the car is hot. Is this a normal deal with the 2001 GT 5 speed, the gears are stock, just put springs and new tokico shocks but the problem was there before all that.

i have not taken it in to ford cause i feel that they will not find anything wrong, but i hope i may get some info and possable idea on a fix if needed.

Thanks

Same thing here. Ford couldn't find anything wrong but found drive line slop. The clunk went away for a day then came back. Still no idea what it is. It happened today when I was just doing a slow u-turn in a parking lot.

*OFF TOPIC* You might want to cut your signature down a little bit. Decrease the font size and take out the spaces between the mods

Some guys get bent out of shape about it.

I had this same problem in my 01 GT a week back. Took it to the dealership, they lubed some part up I dont remember what it was, and I haven't had any more problems. It cost like $10, so you could try that. If I find the reciept I'll tell you what part it was.

The rear end on my 2001 GT came apart, one day I was in slow morning traffic, went to move forward and rear end moved out to the right side, fish tailed 2 to 3 ft. with very light acceleration. At first I thought it was oil or something on the road but no one around me looked surprised. I was kinda feeling twilight zoned, but it did it again going through the turn, turning left. Still going slow, it finally appeared to go away, no clunking, grinding or strange noises were ever heard. I thought at that point I had gotten something on my rear wheels, had no idea that the rear end had actually came apart. I drove the car for a month, there was a faint "wurble" noise from the passenger rear. With jackstands and floor jack, my Dad and I lifted the car up and listened with it in gear...all sounded normal, only thing that was odd was slight slack when pulling wheel/axle straight out from differential. Made an appointment and took it to Ford. They replaced the differential...I can only assume most of it. Since then I have had no problems...knock on wood. This all happened when the car was bone stock, since I have added K&N, Dynomax Turbo mufflers, H&R Sport springs and Maximum Motorsports strut tower brace and C/C plates.....anyhow just some info to enlighten you on possible rear end noises and the extreme damage that can happen without being completely broken down
