Hey does anyone know if i can install a 1993 notch interior into a 1988 car... i just picked up a totally mint black interior so i wanted to convert it.

i know most of the parts will fit dash and all the sidepanels, door panels..

my main question is the 87-89 mustangs have a different set of rear seatbelts then the 90-93.. now would i be able to attach the over the shoulder seat belts into the 1988? they attach to the upper top panel where the 3rd brake light is.

i know the 88 comes with those retractable seatbelts on the sides of both seats.

also the headliner is slightly different, just by the dome light can i use the headliner and just conver the dome light to the 93?

thanks to anyone who can help me out

Yes, it can be done, but as you've seen, there will be some minor changes needed.

Seatbelts are the #1. Front belts will not work. The only direct bolt in black seatbelts come from a 1990. On 91-93, the tab is longer so it won't bolt up correctly. Rear belts...well it's obvious what the prob is. I tracked down some 79-84 black rear lap belts and am using those. The upper shoulder belt mounts are empty. Doesn't bother me.

For the headliner...i recovered my original. Was easy and cost me $20 in material.

Most everything else is easy.

I put a black 1990 interior into my '88

well can i make the rear seat belts work, i know there was a stud coming out of the rear deck panel of the 93, do you think i can just put a bold threw there, or would i need to weld in a support?

also will gt front belts work on the coupe in the front?

Unsure about the rear belts in a coupe. In a hatch, a bracket needs to be welded in.

hatchback seat belts will work in a coupe up front. They are the same.
