number 5 fuse blows

having a problem with the nuber 5 fuse blowing whenever it is put into gear, key is on position works fine, but as soon as its starts and moves it blows...tried replacing turn signal lever but no good...any ideas on what else to check?

Okay this probably won't help, but my flasher fuse blows when I use the hazard light because it is missing the big round aluminum circuit flasher thingy...

So is the flasher missing?

I might try and disconect the backup lights wiring connector at the trans and see if the fuse stops blowing. Do this for diagnostics only, of course.

yea all the flashers are there and working, the turn signals work when the key is forward too...but yea ill try the backup lights, thanks

yep that was it, the reverse wiring by the tranny got a little close to the exhaust, replaced the burnt wiring and works great...thanks for the tip :SNSign:
