O2 Sensor ground

Could I put the HEGO ground on the firewall where the braided ground strap connects from the engine? Would it still work?

Ground is ground is ground. It does not matter. Battery ground to chassis. Engine block ground to chassis. Body ground to chassis. If those are done, then it does not matter as they are all grounded.
