Just due to the Time factor you should have done one already.

I bought it at the end of december and I have little over 3000 miles now. The reason I'm asking is because I lost the owners manual with the maintenance schedule.

I believe the Oil will break down over time.
I change mine every 5000Km. which is around 3000 miles. but I use a regular Oil. you can get more out of a synthetic

I changed mine to full synthetic at 1000, will change at 5000, and every 5000 after, unless the oil starts to look dirty before then.. 2007 Gt Auto

I change mine every 5000 miles(which in my case is roughly every 9 weeks). My first oil change was at 5000 miles at which time I switched to Mobil 1 full synthetic and continue to use the Motorcraft filters.

I change mine every 3000 miles because I am kinda rough on my cars. I wouldn't let it go over 3 months without changing the oil.

i changed mine at 1000 miles and put in mobil 1. mythought is of all the junk that could be in there at build, metal, casting sand etc. gotta wonder what ford would put in there for oil. they want to sell new cars so what better than to put in cheap oil

Is there anything special you have to do to switch to synthetic oil? Or just put in synthetic the next time you do an oil change?

nothing, just change it. especially on a new vehicle. an older one may have some problems with leakage. i do mine the first thousand cause of the junk from build and then again at 5k for break in and then on to the every 5k. could go longer since its syntheti but if you do it yourself its really cheap in relationship to the cost of the vehicle. there is not more important preventitive maint than oil and filter changes.
