Hello guys I have a 1990 mustang lx with a 460 cui big block I have a very small oil leak not sure where its from just had an oil leak from the pan fixed but this one looks like it might from the rear main seal, I moved back to my parents house after my dad passed away in dec and I have no way of doing this work myself anymore since I have no garage, does anybody know a reputable repair shop in and around Cambridge Ontario or if this even worth me fixing as the leak is very small and Ive been told it will just start leaking again.

spray down the engine and undercarraige with some purple power
where you think the enfgine may be leaking spray some aerosol foot powder
the leak will turn the area black from white
also put a piece of cardboard under the front of the car where you park
when you move the car you will see where the drips are and can help pinpoint it

If it is the rear main seal on these cars, they are notorious for leaking, On your 460, it could be either a one or two piece.
No one can answer if you should fix it without knowing where the leak is from other than to say in general yes you should repair it

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

To be honest, with an old pushrod engine, you just kind of have to accept the oil leaks. Be lucky you have a Ford. There are like 10 million small block Chevys still running, and only 5 of them don't leak oil.
