It sounds like you think the low oil pressure is causing the engine to die, but it's far more likely that it's the other way around. Something is probably causing it to stumble and die at idle, and when that happens, the RPM drops so low that the oil pressure drops below the 10-12 psi necessary to make the stock needle show pressure.

Need more info, is the engine a rebuild? How old is the oil pump? how much pressure do you have running it down the road?
I ask because i have seen the sending unit go bad and send a false reading to the gauge, but you say the car cuts out... does it die abruptly or sputter and die?
does the car have oil pressure when you first start it in the morning?

which 303 cam? b, e, f, x....ect. i would say it has nothing to do with your oil pressure. your pressure is dropping due to the engine stalling. Once again does the car jerk around or does it just die as you roll to a stop?

Put a mechanical gauge on it, also would check the oil level itself just to rule it out.

I had the same issue last week on my car it ran nice no problems just would shut off. I checked my base idle and brought it up to 800 no more issues.

Just wanted to comment that being brand new doesn't mean anything. It can be junk, right out of the box.

That said, with what little information you've posted, I would suspect a wiring/maf problem or vacuum leak is causing your car to stall.

Pull codes and see if anything pops up.

A vacuum leak is easy to find put a hose onto the capped port on the firewall tree light a cigar and start blowing smoke in. Eventually you'll see smoke come out the air filter hopefully somewhere else before that, if there is a vacuum leak.

LOL WUT

Vacuum leaks don't leak air OUT of the system, they leak it IN.

I think he means with the motor off, blow smoke in through vacuum tree through a hose. That would work great if that were the only place you could get a vac leak at.

(I sure hope MFE sees this before he heads out the car running in the garage with a cigar and garden hose)

The firewall tree is attached to the intake so the smoke goes through the whole intake. It does work better if you block the throttle body with duct tape.
