Oil Pressure Dropping Help!!!

I've checked for leaks this way for many years.

I suspect that you would need a pretty significant amount of smoke in order to detect a vac leak at the plenum or lower manifold. I also don't think it would be very good at finding leaks in the smaller accessory lines... particularly the ones that vent through solenoids.

The starting fluid method with the engine at idle, IMO works best.

Correct, solenoids are a problem small lines are not. It does'nt require as much smoke as you'd expect. The intake leaks can be found or you can use starting fluid I just prefer the smoke. The are actually a few videos on you tube showing people using smoke.
