Personally speaking, once my break in period is completed, I'll use nothing but Mobil 1..Until then, I'll continue using Motorcraft 5-20 as recommended by Ford.. However, I've heard from some members, that a break in period isn't really necessary and have also heard from others, that a break in period is recommended, being that I have only 1,018 miles on my 05 GT. I guess I'll play it safe and wait, until reaching 2,500 miles, before switching over to Mobil 1..

i use mobil 1 fully synthetic in my car. many people claim that Amsoil is far better. personal opinion i guess. go with what you are comfortable with. i have never personally met an Amsoil user, so i have not been swayed into trying that brand. i KNOW mobil 1 has had good results, so i use it.

here is a link to amsoil.....

I use Royal Purple. Do a google search on it. Indepent tests show gains even over other synthetics. Redline is another good one, but I'm sticking with Royal Purple.

I use Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. Any big name synthetic will do.

Royal Purple! Once you pick a brand...stay with the same brand, not good to switch around, your car will last longer.

+2. My old 88 has 340,000 Mobil 1 Oil / Motorcraft Filter miles. And that was changing only once a year which was 12000 to 15000 each year. The 06 will be getting M1 on the next change.

5w30 Mobile1 for me. Running my first bottles through now. Just switched from the Motorcraft 5w20 after I had the blower slapped on.

Being that my 05 GT, has only 1,018 miles..Should I wait, until the engine is fully broke in at 2,500 miles, before switching to a full synthetic oil, meaning Mobil 1 ??

I'm at 11k miles and still using Motorcraft oil and filter. I am happy with it. Herd that the Motorcraft oil is made by Valvoline and truth to that?

I use Mobil 5w20 because I can get it anywhere. Redline, amsoil, redline, RP, castrol, and pennzoil platinum are great oils. check out www.bobistheoilguy.com
