after looking for a total of 8 months i think i have found what im looking for. a 1982 ford mustang hatchback. Has the 5.0L V8 like I want and the 5 speed.

1982 Mustang GT.2bbl carb.It has shorty headers, off road H pipe, dual exhaust, smog pump eliminator pully,5 speed tranny. It has newer interior out of 87-88 Mustang.Has an 1984 SVO instrument cluster, and tilt steering column.140 MPH speedometer.Needs body work, paint, and a little interior work.I have original instrument cluster, steering column, and 1 set of turbine rims goes with car. This car is very solid, and will make someone a very nice car.Very hard to find car. This is original paint, and i haven't washed it this year yet.Not bad for a 24 year old car.I wouldn't be afraid to drive it to Florida and back.Motor starts nice, and runs strong.Drives down the road straight and true.Brakes are in excellent condition, and stop straight and true, with no pulling to the right or left.Tires have over 75% tread left, and spare never been used.
Miles: 100797
Transmission: Manual
Engine: 8 - Cyl.
color:red out and red in
Sunroof

it is a carbed motor with the org. 2 bbl i belive.

that was what the guy's Description of the car was. Me and my dad will be going to look at it this weekend.

here are some pictures.

well he put it on ebay and had it started at 1,000 and none bidded on it. so im hoping i can get it for 1,000. were going to ask if he will take 700 at first. im going to go there and point out every thing wrong. becase cuz the front and rear bumpers are cracked. and it will be easyer to make a good offer in person.

what do you guys think i should offer. he told me to come over and we would work out a price.

heres the ebay link. the auction is over.

do some research here. They are completely different cars.

I think that '82 GT is worth $1000. I think if you could get it for $800 or so then you would be getting a pretty good deal. If you want the original steering wheel for that car then I could use the svo one on there. One of my svo's is missing the center section.

The '82 GT was my favorite body style of all the fox chassis cars.

Those cracks on the bumpers would be a very easy fix, might take a day if you want to do it yourself. Get some mesh and a grinder, some plastic bondo, also some sand paper. I would get the body work done first, that way the rust and cracks wont have time to spread. Then I would work on the interior and move onto performance.

I'm sure that you probably know this already, but the description says it's an interior out of a 87+, but looking at the pictures, it's a 85-86 interior. Just in case you didn't notice.

Car looks pretty good, but I wouldn't waste any money on that engine. If you don't have emissions to worry about, I'd buy a nice carbed crate motor from Ford Racing and drop it in.

The 5.0 from 1982 had 157 HP and 240 Torque. I'd definitely grab a 320HP crate motor from Ford or something, because starting that low might be more of a money trap to get to comparable power ratings in relation to a brand new crate.

Or build your own carbed motor. Just a few thoughts.

Porno red interior for teh win!

yes and i talked to the guy about it. and he said we can work out a price that works for me and him. thanks for the interior tip Nvidia. what i want to do first it cus that small section out in the rear and replace it with sheet metal and prime that so it dont rust. then the bumpers as for them, i was plaing on doing a cobra replica in the looks area. as for the engine. my plans were to put a 4bb carb, it all ready has headers. and h pipes. now all thats left in the area is the american thunder seris. from flowmaster. and then mabey some under drive pullys then idk. my dad told me the deal with me getting the 5.0 is that it will not being getting anywhere above 300 hp till after im 18. whay else can i do? to get it some power for the lowest ampunt of money. would a edelbrock carb work?

Get right around the 300hp mark then get good drag radials and gears put in with a good suspension and it will feel like 350hp, lol.

Whoever gave you that info is incorrect. All the interior with the exception of the seats is mostly original to the car. The seats are from a '90-'91 mustang. If the seats were older they would have the bigger headrests, if they were newer they would not have the pullout leg supports.

Those seats are most definitely not from an '85-'86.
