I am fed up with counting bleeps and blinks on my stone age looking code reader ,come on we're in the 21st centruy here, I want something with a LCD readout atleast ..
Has anyone had experience with either AUTO-XRAY or the Tweecer eecIV management system, I know that tweecer does alot more than just read codes and igntion timing , but is it worth it for the weekend racer.

Go tot pepboys, or autozone, they should have a code scanner. They have some (if not all) lcd readouts.

Tweecer is only worth it if you have a power adder or a lot of mods and can't get the engine running perfectly. I just ordered one because I'm running too lean in certain rpm ranges and i want to change that amongst other things like timing retard in the upper rpms at WOT.

Tweecer, to my knowledge does not read codes, the RT model might, but i'm not sure. I think the anderson PMS might, I know some company makes a tuner that does.

those Pepboys Accutron code scanner w/ the LCD read outs, they are 1 small step above the old style Accutron. the only advantage is you dont have to count the bleeps. I guess Im going to get the auto-xray EZ-scan 3000 its $300 but it will save me paying an arm and a leg to get my codes pulled and its works on GM and Chrysler too, so maybe I can charge someone to pull a code ha ha/

the actual snap on guy sells a really high end one that goes by car makes in general, new it goes around 3000 beans, used you can get them around 800-1000. tells you on screen whats wrong and how to fix it. In my opinion you can do the same **** with the 10 dollar led beeper and a code book.

I have the $40 Creader code reader from Harbor Freight and the higher end Actron CP9145, that reads real time sensor data.

Both read OBD2 codes about equally, with a digital display, but the luxury of real time data is well worth the extra expense to me. I also bought the extra cost cable to read OBD1's like the EEC4. Same deal, really neat, especially if you have a minor long running driveability problem. The EEC4 does not seem to allow quite as much data to be read real time.

Auto Xray gets my vote. I have an OBDII for the wife's Isuzu, & it works fine.
