Background, I have a 66 Mustang that is currently in the bodyshop and due out in the middle of July (which probably means August...). I pulled out the tired 289 and instead of rebuilding that I am going to switch to a roller block and serp setup. My rear has 3.80 gears and a 91' T-5 already so I'm looking into opinions on what should I put in the motor. I also have a Edelbrock RPM intake and a Holley 600 fully mech secondaries on the shelf.
I'm looking for 300-350hps with a nice classic car sound and really not going the nitrious/super charger route.
What combo would you put into the motor to achieve my goals?
Any opinions are welcome.
