I want to know if any of you guys would do what Im having done and that is to paint the interior doors , dash, and rear arm thing covers the same as the outside of the car.

It is a 67 coupe and Im just looking to make it as clean as possible. Im a little limited as far as color combos because it is the bright red interior.

Im painting the exterior a pretty bright but not orangy or fire engine red metallic, in fact its a 04 Mazda color, one of the prettiest reds I ever saw, in my opinion.

I dont want to have all kinds of contrasts so Im thinkin Eff it, just paint the inside the same as the outside.

Do you think cool, or tacky?

Its going in on Monday.

Outside I put on the GT rear valance, gonna just put the running horse Mustang in the front with no little corral or wings, and still deciding weather I should put on Shelby side scoops, to cover the tell tale 67 scoops, and the only reason i want to do that is because I might want to do a C stripe. Dunno if a C stripe would look to busy with the 67 scoops.

But Im gettin off the subject here- Thumbs up or down on the interior paint?

When you said dash you mean the area around the black insert and gauges correct? If so this sounds ok, would be interested in seeing the finished product.

I think it's too much of the same color. Hey I saw one a month ago that had the roll on bedliner black stuff covering the inner doors and dash pieces. It actually looked very good. The guy spent a lot of time on it he said. It sure showed too.

I dont like giving my take on something so individually subjective due to my very specific tastes, but I will anyway.

Personally, I dont like the custom look and I dont like red interiors. On the flipside, just because I dont like it does not mean it doesnt look good. I tend to think the interior need to contrast at least slightly with the exterior, but you dont and thats all that matters. If you're worried, black covers just about any other color pretty well.

Hows that GT valance look? I'm trying to decide on sidepipes or out the back.

Like I said Im limited cause I have a red interior, and Im not looking for a custom look, just a clean look.

When I said spray the dash I meant the bottom part, you know the ashtray and glove box. I took off all the Camera case stuff, and am replacing it with new stuff.

So you think black would make a nice contrast with the red? I mean i know they go together, but would the combo look backward, with the outside metal black (on the doors) and the soft trim red?

Also, I already scotch btited all the metal panels and dash, can I spray over them without the paint lifting? Macco is painting my car so its whatever paint they use.
