I would like to repair my front leather seats. What are my options? Does the leather have the ability to be removed from the seats or do I have to buy new seats alltogether? Thanks.

You can either take the seats to a local auto upholstery shop and they can recover them for you, or you can purchase some customized replacment covers. Here's a site that sells KatSkin leather replacements: http://ayarinc.com/english/index.htm

If you are looking for a stock replacement, you will be better off buying a cover kit and installing yourself. It is not that hard to do if you take your time. The covers are simply attached to the seat frame with hog rings and or "J" clips. It will cost alot more if you go to an upholstery shop.

I think that might have been the one. I've contacted them. I'll post when I find out the cost.

Autoleathers.com sells the kits. It's at least $700, and for that you can pick up a mint set.

I doubt it would be 700 for a seat cover and some seat buns. I recovered all the seats in my 67 and put new buns in the front seats for less then 500.

Ok, I was doubtful and I was WRONG. The reseller they reffered me to wanted 700 bux just for covers for the front and rear seats, no buns included. They said that is a Ford only item. I replied back and told them I didn't need the rear seat covers and that only knocked it down 150 bux. So for 2 seat covers they want 550. Then they said another 300 for labor to do the two front seats. Do they realize I'm a hardcore DIYer ? I guess not.

Anyways, looks like you were right. I might as well upgrade to Cobra front buckets =)

HAHA you think that is bad. Ford wanted $575 for the top cover of ONE front seat for an 03 Cobra seat.

So I could recover 1/2 of 1 seat for almost $600. LOL........NO

That is REALLY bad. I think I'm just going to upgrade to 03-04 Cobra buckets. Time to start scouring ebay and the classifieds.
