Didn't think so. The ******* salesperson told me I had to order it. I'm going to find that find print to verify and throw it in their face.

Unfortunately I still really really want my GT not to have the spoiler, which pretty much requires a custom order. I rented a V6 while out of town last month (Hertz seems to have no problem getting them) and it had a spoiler. I kept thinking my trunk was open. Drove me batty.

I also noticed when I was in the soutthwest I counted 5 05's on the road over the weekend I was there. I have only seen 2 in chicago area so far. I wonder how much allocation is based on geography.

All of this info really aches boys and girls. I guess this is what happens when a new car is released. I remember back in 1994 when the SN95 was new and it was the same story. Orders sometimes taking 6 months.

As far as allocation based on geography. I wonder also. Here in Los Angeles I see a new V6 05 every other day and have only seen one GT since the debut.

I know, it's so freaking frustrating. I ordered my baby on 1/22/05 with X-plan and $1000 deposit thinking she would be on assembly within a month and delivered by end of April - NOT! Just now got my VIN# yesterday, which I'm told means she's not too far from assembly.

All that dealer BS is a load of crap. They don't want you to buy the ones off the lot, but would rather you order one. That's what they told me. Load of CRAP. Since I wanted the Red Leather option, my dealer told me it would be near impossible to "find" one, would need to order one instead. GRRRRR!

Good luck and keep us posted.

12/7/04 here

5 months and still clean and unsecheduled. Meanwhile I hear people on this list ordering after me and still getting theirs.

I am going to start car shopping this weekend. Screwit, I might as well look at maybe an '04 GT0 or maybe even an SUV. I had at rental SUV while out of town this week and I kinda liked it (being higher up, more room, and this one had a decent bit of power to it).

For X-Plan, do you have to custom order or can I buy off the lot? I may just buy one off a dealer floor and compromise on some features.

yes you can order on xplan. but as far as suv's go, you should be able to find the one you want at a dealer near you.its not like there is a shortage.we have a couple hundred, anyone want one at invoice?

we absolutely do want to sell off the lot.problem is, they are all sold before they get here. we have had two that made it to the lot and were gone within minutes, not hours or days.

as far as the red leather, good luck even getting one. if you order, i doubt you will see it. and don't think a dealer is gonna trade a gt even if they do have it. if you were to search the country and by chance find one, be ready to pay msrp or higher. might i also suggest you order as soon as you can when the 06 comes available, this cycle will repeat and price will hold, if not rise.

Hey Zengirl-call Ben Britt @ Warner Robbins Ford. I was having the same problems as you w/ an Atl area dealer on a GT Vert order. This guy took my order w/ no deposit; put it into the system 03-24; sent me a signed DORA w/ x-plan price on it. I was skeptical.

I am already serialized w/ a build date of April 18. Who knows when Iactually see the car, but my first order ($1000 deposit) has never even been entered-it's not even C/U!

WR Ford; Ben Britt; 404-922-9131

If it comes quicker it's worth a drive down there to me.

Hey guys,

I FINALLY spoke with the inventory manager at my dealership today and got the low-down on my baby (AFTER I ripped him a new one!). He told me that mine order is 2nd in line to be built and should go into production late next week. GRRR!!!

I am getting impatient with this, especially since I placed my custom order (along with my $1000 deposit) on January 22!! They keep telling me she will go on the assembly line late next week and should be delivered by MEMORIAL DAY?!?!?

A co-worker of mine ordered his GT in Dec 04, still no word. We thought because it was an X-plan car they were dragging their feet. I’ll sure let him know not to hold his breath.
