Original Air Silencer Value

hey guys i just found the original air silencer off my car , and i haard these things are getting pretty hard to find.Now i doubt anybody wants one of these but you never know,(this is not a for sale ad,if i get interest in it then i will post it for sale in the classifieds)but anyway what do you guys think its worth? Anything at all or what?

REally seriously wheres the feeler ad, funny that no other mustang websites consider this a feeler ad. hmmm

this is exactly the reason why i left stangnet so many years ago, the blatant attitude and crap that the mods give to anybody who is not a mod. ridiculous
i asked what the value was on a mustang part, i in no way was trying to make a sale on this thread, this is not a feeler ad,

A feeler ad would have went something like this

hey guys i have a facatory air silencer from one of my mustangs and i want to get rid of this because i have no use. Make me some offers on this as to get a feel for what i could get selling it, and if i like your offer then i will sell it to you.

Thats a feeler ad, you and i both know the difference so back off and take a pill .

They are only worth something to a guy who wants there Fox 100% stock. That represents 1% or Fox owners. You are prolly talking about a guy with 0-10,000 miles or less on their car which they had just picked up from the original owner. The O.O. may have had a CAI on it.

P.S. Watch how you talk to the mods...you don't want them to you!

No clue but I have one nicely stored. I was messing on ebay, and found an auction titled "msutang air intake" Yes, mustang was misspelled. I checked it out, and it was the air silencer, stock air box, and all tubing up to the TB, including the mass air meter with bracket and bolts. All this was from a 40K mile 93 GT here in FL. I tossed in a bid at the last minute, and was the only bidder. With shipping, it was to my door for $17.XX.

I figure it will sit in the box in my garage/attic for who knows how long. Maybe in 20-30 years I can get $100 for it?

The air silencer is a box that attaches to the air filter box , but it resides inside the fender of the 86-95 cars, i dont know if the mod motors have them or not, prolly but im not sure. its job was to silence the incoming rushing air, when you remove it you get the whoosh sound and hear the air being sucked into the engine. This is almost every mustang owners first mod to the car, removing it, it simply pops out and drovps out from below the car, Some people report big differences in power but its really just a sound a a little better seat of the pants feeling.

I bet it would be worth 100 bucks in 20-30 years!!

50 resto doesn't make it...and they want 18 dollars for the rubber gromets on the framerail, and 15 dollars for the original rubber mount studs on the inner structure apron!!!!

You really push your luck with an attitude like this. You may have not intended for it to be a "feeler" ad, which I gave you the benefit of the doubt for and is why it wasn't deleted altogether. But when you make statements along the lines of “this isn’t’ a for sale ad, but what's it worth and would anyone be interested in it if I did put it up for sale” like you did….that's my friend is considered fishing.

I was trying to be a nice guy by leaving your thread open and just modifying its content so that as many members may still see and answer your question. Perhaps I was being a little bit of a smart ass with my reply, but it was meant to be a light hearted comment. For that I apologies and in the future I'll follow it up with a ( ) so that it's not mistaken again!

Regardless, you need to cool your jets!!! There was no call for your confrontational attitude and as a result of your tantrum; I've given you a reminder for your troubles. If you've got a problem with the way your thread has been moderated, feel free to PM me. But lashing out at myself, (or any mod) in open forum is only going to get you into trouble.

in 20 years they will be worth it to a guy doing a full resoration on one...right now...not alot of people doing 100% factory stock restorations...i know im now...i toke mine out...

yeah, if someone wants to restore their fox, it may be worth something...but yet again, they'll probably be able to find a oem thats never been used...so its probably not worth much now, and it may not ever be.

(its sad for me too, because i dont know what to do with mine!)
