Long story short...

I am a "member" of the Blue Oval Mustang Club out of South Windsor, CT.

The Club forum is based here:

http://purewhp.invisionzone.com/index.php?

In order to see the forum topics you have to be "approved" by a moderator.

All in all, not that odd.

What is odd is that if you type the name of another Mustang forum in a thread it's edited out of the thread (see note below):

From a separate post:

"QUOTE(25thmustang @ Oct 24 2007, 06:07 AM)
This site wont let you say the name of the club, but it was there club that got me the showcase in 5.0 Magazine."

Is this normal practice?

Thanks!

I've never seen a forum do that before. Pretty lame if you ask me ... So I'd say, no .. not normal practice. Typical stuff would be like not being able to view attachments in members posts and even that's weak ...

Sure it is, you can't type a few on here either...These forums are basically a business or promting one so why would they want you to link a competitor?

Competition?

We all share the passion for our cars. I really struggle to see how this became a competition instead of a "brotherhood".

I don't know, perhaps I'm too old.....

This message board is a business first and technical support second. It has nothing to do with the brotherhood and everything to do with $$$$. Maybe 10 years ago these forums were started just for fun and to see who is out there but now the owners are making money off advertisers etc so the fewer people leaving this site the more they can charge to advertise.

It is the same over on MD, they don't want anyone mentioning another site because they could lose a job or 2.
