I think his apraiser is related to him and also the supplier of the Mary-J they're both sharing..... Nice clean car though, probably 5-6K car if it really is 42K on the clock and is a real Cobra. More like 142K if you ask me.
Guy must have read too many issues of Collector Car magazine..
First we whine about how Sal didn't ask enough, and how IIs are underappreciated, then we whine because a guy with a nice looking car wants $15K on a buy-it-now.
Would I pay $15K for it, no...but then I can't see paying $15K for any II.
As far as an apprasial goes...it depends on who is doing it as to the validity. My father-in-law's white/red Cobra clone has a written apprasial from a local Ford dealer for $10K, but I think you'd be hard pressed to get it. I dang near choked when I saw it (especially since I built it ,including purchase, for less than $2500).
The seller would get an idea of the true worth at auction end, but I think he's hurt bidder interest with a B-I-N that high. A lot of people are going to assume that the reserve is close to the B-I-N.
Remember, a Cobra II sold for $15 large about 2 years ago on ebay. The same car that recently failed to sell, I believe.
