where exaclty are the oxygen sensors and how do i get to them? from what ive read on the forums the last couple days mine definitely need replaced. what is an OEM sensor  ? sorry about all the questions but im still new to this mustang stuff....thanks guys.

Your O2 sensors are located at the flange of your H-Pipe where the header is bolted on. OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer" and those are the only replacement sensors you should buy. Unplugging them or driving with worn out sensors will cause your car to run rich to the point where performance and fuel economy will suffer as a result.

Here's the best price I could find on them and you also get a whole slew of other new sensors to boot. :nice:

Yup...they are in the h-pipe and the only good way to get to them to replace them is to drop the H-pipe. this process is sort of a pain in the ass but after u have done it a couple times it gets pretty easy. Jack the front of the car up and i used a impact wrench with a long ass extension on it and removed the bolt on the h-pipe/header flange. then remove the bolts on the h-pipe/flow tube flange on the other end by the muffs. Then disconnect the air tube that goes from teh second set of cats up to the smog pump, and disconnect the oxygen sensor wires from the little harness. then you should be able to pull it out. Once its out u need an oxygen sensor wrench that looks like a regular crescent wrench but doesnt go all the way around the sensor. take em out and reverse the proccess to put it all back in again. I would suggest soking all those bolts with rust penetrant an our or so before you do the job...mayb even with the engire warm. good luck man

completely unneccesary!!! There's no reason that you should be dropping the h-pipe. Get a wrench on them and loosen them. I used some liquid wrench on them then went to town. The new ones go in just as easy
