Painless Wiring harness

I am going to be purchasing the wiring harness soon, and I Would like to know if anyone has purchased or has any feedback on the painless wiring harness? I am including a link so you can see the one I am talking about. It says it includes everything you need, but I find $600 hard to believe for everything considering that other wiring harness' go for 800 just for the under dash piece. Anyway, if anyone can give me any feedback as to quality or any issues, I would appriciate it. Also, if I am doing a shelby clone, will this have the proper hookups in the back for the 3 bulbs that need to go to the tailights or do I need to buy somehting else? Thanks.

I've re-wired my 65 coupe using a Painless kit, it was piece of cake.

Painless Kit

When you purchased the kit, was all the wiring there for every part to the car or did you have to purchase anything additional? Thanks.

that's the difference between original and aftermarket parts right there. I'm going painless when I get the cash to - $600 for new wiring and with newer style fuses, wiring gauge = a good deal if you ask me.

The plug and go kit is a great deal. I went with a universal kit for $200 and it was painful. I didn't have to buy anything for the kit but did have to splice in the plugs from the original harness for the tail lights. It came with head light sockets. If I could go back, I would have bought the $600 kit.

I did the plug and play kit in my 65 fastback. I was very impressed. Everything that I needed was there, plus I had quite a few extra pieces. However my build is far from stock.

everything was there, and even more than I needed for the car

I bought the 18-circuit kit from painless with the trunk-mounted fuse panel option. If you are a whiz kid with a multi meter and much more patient than I am you might feel like Gonzo does and find it a cinch. For me, I am still afraid to connect the battery without an expert and a fire extinguisher next to me



The kit was complete with all pins and connectors EXCEPT the one for the steering column, there are a number of parts left over for GM and Mopar applications, I did have to go buy a box of blade connectors too, but that is because I connected everything twice to make sure all the circuits worked before cutting anything. In my opinion the factory style repro harnesses are the way to go for a stock rebuild, despite the price. I have added so many things to my project that a stock harness simply would not suffice. I'll rate the Painless kit at a 10 out of 10 on quality, my only real complaint was the instructions.

I've used Painless and like the name says, it was pretty easy considering I have no automotive electrical experience. You will need to buy some extra butt connectors to complete the job. Good luck!

I put one in my 62 t-bird and my dads 55 t-bird and it was probly one of the easiest things I've done.
