I used Rustoleum textured paint...bought it at Walmart. It's got a texture about like 200 grit sandpaper. I had it media blasted by a buddy of mine which is basically like sand blasting only i think he used either glass or plastic beads instead of sand...anyways it leaves it nice and smooth and super clean. I used some self etching primer and then about 4 coats of the Rustoleum, then sanded down the tops of the fins. I don't know how it's gonna hold up to heat yet but the paint is a huge PITA to sand off so it should do ok.

Looks good, mine's better

Looks like wrinkle black paint in the picture.

I used that stuff on mine. Looks great, pain to get it to wrinkle (have to put it in front of a heater) and it seems to chip off fairly easily.

Yeah i did find the actual wrinkle paint just like they used from the factory but i wanted to make it kinda different but still the same theme (also it was already painted when i found it anyways). Plus i think the wrinkle finish holds dirt better...this stuff rinses off pretty easy. We'll see i guess. I planned on putting it back on today but it's pouring rain outside.

I did something similar only i used "new ford blue" engine paint.

They look good when they are all put together.. Although i would still LOVE to have a "turbo" Valve cover.

Make sure you clear coat it real good so the fins stay shiny.

I'm eventually going to either buy a porter intake or find one myself and port it and when i do it'll be the taller style so i can also run that cover. I got it installed and it took all of 2-3 days for it to be totally covered in dust...no idea where it's coming from either but it's already dirty. I'll see if i can clean it up a bit and get pics later.

I love the "Turbo" covers too

This is the best mine ever looked. Can't keep it clean on the car.

This is also the only good picture I can find of it for some reason...I have no idea where my other ones went.
