I don't post often but here goes.

I installed a paxton 2200 with air/air intercooler a few weeks back. Whoosh..what a treat that was. All went well but it did take a lot of time.

I was not happy with the stock diablo tune since it was cold idling wildly and I had read the tune was conservative.

I took it to modular powerhouse in Cartersville, Ga today. Tim tune it up to 475hp from 435hp

Problem is this. It does not seem to feel as powerful as before. I know that must sound vague to some but the "seat in the pants" power seemed off. Tim did say I should consider a boost a pump due to mild leaning out near 6000RPM but I wasnt running it up in that range.

It was really hot today in Georgia...~93. Could that have made a difference? The numbers showed a 40hp bump.

Thanks for any opinions..

I would think the heat may make a difference, just not sure that much. But I wonder if the power is coming in lower and smoother? Perhaps it is masking it, where as before is came in maybe later and a more noticable transition?

It feels more consistient but I enjoyed that jolt around 5k.

This HP drug has me. Wondering what's next on the performance list. Prob 4.10 gears.

The SOP dyno is very inconsistent. For instance, one of the fastest feeling cars I've ever driven was my 96 bone stock GT, but that car was 1.5-2 seconds slower than my new GT. The but dyno can be fooled, in the case of my old 96, it was just the sloppy suspension. With your old paxton tune it may have been significantly less linear, causing a sudden jolt in power. Smooth power feels slower but is actually faster.

The custom tune smoothed out the hills and valleys of the canned tune. That's why it feels slower. By getting the tune right, you're building the power in a smooth, consistent manner. You lose some of the feel of power, but if you had done back to back runs down the strip, I guarantee you'd find the car is faster.
