I posted this in the wrong forum before sorry 1st time posting.
Hi can anyone tell me where the hose from the PCV valve is supposed to connect the idiot that had the car before me has it plugged with a screw. also when I pulled the PCV the screen didn't come out of the intake ,is this where I've seen some posts refer to using a screw to remove the screen come into play.any help will be appreciated

thread a screw into the screen, it's in that hole on the back of the lower intake. don't know about the other part.

Michael likes to use a magnetic pick up tool to remove the screen. ive used long needle nose pliers on mine. good luck.

To answer your first question, it goes to a fitting on the bottom of the upper intake right in the middle.

My screen came out using the magnet on a stick method.

The magnetic pickup tool is a great idea. I used long nose pliers on mine and being short I ended up laying on top of my intake to reach it.

Thanks for the help I didn't get the chance to look for where the hose connects yesterday but I'm going to check for it in the morning. I was able to get the screen out with pliers. The previous owner took some kind of screen and rolled it up and stuck it in the intake

can you tell me would the hose not being connected and the pcv screen being stopped up cause my car to vapor lock . when it gets hot and I turn the engine off and then try to restart it it won't crank just turns over. when I take the oil cap off and try and start it you can see the smoke or vapor coming out of the filler neck.

Those two things shouldn't be related - but go ahead and fix the pcv anyhow. The new screen, pcv valve and grommet will cost you less than $20 at a Ford dealer. I'd stay away from the aftermarket bits - the pcv valve often does not fit snugly enough in the grommet to eliminate vacuum leaks.

If your car is injected (fill your sig out so we know what you've got/what's been modded), I doubt it's vapor locking. The fuel system operating pressures are high enough (30-40 psi) to almost guarantee that vapor lock can't occur. I have no doubt it's having a hard time with hot starts - just don't think vapor lock is the problem. I'd pull the computer codes and see if they provide some clues as to what's going on. Perhaps the fuel pump isn't priming the way it's supposed to on start up. If the car's been converted to a carb - vapor lock can always be a problem on those. Careful routing and shielding of the fuel system components usually solves the problem. If it's been converted and you have an adjustable regulator, a slight increase in pressure sometimes solves vapor lock problems too.

5.0Guy my screen looked nothing like that all I had was the screen that looks to be stuffed inside the metal piece on yours it didn't have the metal piece.

wythors the only place under the intake that I could find had a smaller hose connected to it and the previous owner had it plugged also . it is on the drivers side of the intake a little forward of center is this what you were talking about. I ran the pcv hose to it even though it didn't fit tight . then I went and test drove the car the same distance that I did the last time it wouldn't start and it started right up. So I hope this will solve my problem. Thanks

maybe you didn't pull the whole thing out..try to feel down in that hole for the rest of the screen.

??? If your car is a stock efi car, the pcv is located right in the center of the intake (side to side - center) all the way at the back of the intake. Not sure where you've got it plugged into, but that doesn't sound like the pcv hole, and if it's not tight, and you've got it connected to vacuum, you're gonna have a vacuum leak.

good idea. those things are great for probing connectors too, arent they. i use them for that more than anything (or piercing wires - TPS comes to mind. alligator clip on the probe makes it hands free). just dont let the probe fall on metal. LOL.

MY, he was asking where the other end of the hose went. It goes to the elbow on the underside to the intake just about in the middle.

Sorry - my bad; loose fit is still an issue however.
