I paid $225 for gears and $300 for triple gauge pod with
volts, temp, and oil pressure. I think thats a little on the
high end but it was a nice install and they do nice work.
I could have done it for free but probably would have messed
it up. Rather pay to have it done the right way.

I paid $100 to have my gears installed and the installer supplied the gear oil as well. Of course I got hooked up with this guy thru a friend but I say if you pay more than $200 it's high. As for the calibration and programming is that with a chip or reflash or somehthing? Dyno time? what? You should be a little more specific there but I can get a chip or reflash and get on the dyno for an hour w/ unlimited pulls for $400 w/ chip or reflash and tuning

Seeing we're both in Metro Detroit I'm gonna assume this quote is from Livernois Motorsports as that's the same price I was quoted.. I got a quote from DTS for $475 for gears, kit, install and speedcal...

$330 for a dyno tune is pretty good. And the gear install might be a little high, but not that much.

is that 270 with you having the gears already or with them furnishing the gears, fluids, etc.

My shop was around $250 to just install gears. I thought it was a touch high, but then I saw what all they actually did while changing out my gears and Im happy I paid the $$$. As for a dyno tune, I think my shop charges around 250-300 for a good tune. It definately varies by how many pulls it takes to get everything right

Yes

You got ripped

I guess everyone else likes throwing their money away!

$150 gear install at dallas mustang.
Tuning should be around $75 to $125 an hour.

Is this the shop in Detroit you took your car to:

Plus the price of the chip. $450 is not uncommon for a dyno tune.

Oh just so I dont get anyone confused thats $100 unlimited pulls in 1 hour. So with letting the car cool down a little after each run I'd say it'll probably get about 3 runs in so hopefully they can get me dialed in with that. Anyone else had this done and how many pulls does it usually take to get dialed in?
