lets see all those SN's with the tailpipes taken off. My 4" tips look ok but I just got my car lowered and I think taking the tailpipes off will clean up the appearance a lot.

thanks

Sometimes I like the side exhaust alot, sometimes I wish it had regular tailpipes.

One of these days I'm gonna put tailpipes back on it. I think it sounds a lot better with tails.

the guy who originally did my exhaust (just the o/r H and catback) did a ****ty job he put the tips on so they have that 'wheelie bar' look to them. It looks badass from some angles (looks pretty musclecar-ish from the back). But they are not perfect and I think I wanna get rid of them.

Thanks for the pics guys that was fast!! Those stangs look good with no tips. Is it ok to cut the exhaust right after the axle where it goes down at 45* so the exhaust fumes and crap go straight onto the ground?

Mine is dumped right before the axle. You get fumes sometimes but its not bad. I have an O/R H and that give the worst fumes (as opposed to a catted midpipe)

And you got responses so fast because everyone here is a pic whore. Myself included. lol

Do you have a shot directly from the side? And how long are those tips?

when you have 2-1/2 going to 4 inch i dont...if a car is done from headers back with a full exhaust then yes i do too...my dad's 69 chevelle ss has a full custom bent 3" exhaust and it came out nicely... but the only way i will go over 2-1/2 is if i have a shop bend me up some 3" i refuse to do the tips thing...i just see tuner writen all over it.

those sidepipes must hit everything on the road!!

and I know the 4" tips are big, I do like the way they look (i sorta think they have a '70s musclecar look), and the sound justifies them completely, but I'm looking for a more clean look and I dont like how they point down toward the ground. And yea, the biggest I would go from now on would be 3.5.

i think 94-98's look awful without tailpipes---too much gas tank exposure without something to balance out the gaps on the sides of it. i will be sad to see mine go.

i also think that your tips should be the same size as the rest of your exhaust and have no visible welds/clamps/size changes.

I agree. I had thoughts of switching to magnaflow today actually. Never pulled the trigger on it though.

here's my contribution:
