Don't waste your money on platinum plugs, you don't need them. I find plain old Autolites with Ford Racing 9 mm wires hard to beat combined with a simple, good ignition system, such as Duraspark or any of the electronic modules for points distributors, along with a hot coil. The plugs in my Ranger's 5.0 are two years old and still look like new. (Crane XR-1, Mallory Promaster coil, Autolite plugs, Ford wires)
