I find it amusing/perplexing ('05 Mustang), considering this forum is dedicated to a car that has yet to exist in a dealership showroom ('05 Mustang), hence most all of what we talk about here is simple chit-chat, speculation, and discussions of what the car world will be like WHEN the '05 is here, that the subject matter of various threads are so diligently policed ('05 Mustang). I'm not trying to pick a fight with any moderator ('05 Mustang), I'm just curious as to why it's that "important", and whether the members of this particular forum have an opinion one way or the other ('05 Mustang). When members of F-body forums start a thread discussing the Cobra or Mach ('05 Mustang), I don't see anybody getting their wrist slapped or their thread moved ('05 Mustang). It's natural to want to talk about the competition. Hence my poll ('05 Mustang).

The 05 Mustang board is attracting the same mix of people that the 05 Mustang is attracting--ie not just diehard Ford Mustang people. Maybe they should make a 05 Tech and 05 Talk like with the other Mustang variants. And right most of the 05 discussion is just "talk."

I think the competition should be allowed so long as it is car related. Obviously none car related stuff like who did what last night should be done elsewhere(i.e. the 4.6 talk board). I mean there is more than enough room and time on these boards to accomidate both 05 Mustang speculation and rumors of other vehicles. And honestly if people have a problem with reading about the possibilities of a 5th Gen Camaro a new Charger or what have you then they should lighten up a bit. Nobody is forcing you to read it or reply to it. A model of what this board could be if everybody took it seriously enough would be the 5th Gen Camaro board on camaroz28.com. There is tons more room for speculation on that car since it's not even in prototyping stage as far as we know but those guys talk about every new car under the sun. And I think that is good it promotes car talk amongst people who proclaim to be automotive enthusiasts. Does it really and truly matter if the car isn't made by Ford that it can't or shouldn't be discussed? That board over there is still very much a Camaro board and they will talk for pages about the legacy of the old Camaro or the possibilities of a new Camaro they just fill the empty time with talk of other cars. Seriously how many times can we rehash and reread the same info over and over and over again for the next 5 months before the 05s are out.

I don't think that there's enough traffic here to justify splitting them, which is kind of my point. It's not as if the "talk" and the "tech" get in anybody's way by being together, or are irritating (at least to me). There's only a half dozen threads ever getting much attention at one time as it is.

True. And since it's really all talk as it is, might as well let it be. But it's their board, they can do what they want. I assume they're trying not to piss off the Mustang diehards, who ironically are the ones doing most of the bitter complaining about the 05. On the Mopar board I frequent no one has anything bad to say about the new Mustang and lots of guys over there are planning to park one next to their old Mope.

Since the car isn't out yet all we can due is Bullshat with each other. Once the car hits the street and some people on here actually own one then I expect the nature of this forum to change.

there'll be threads like 'problems with my early production 05' or 'pics of my modded 05'
