turn that 4 eye into this:

j/k

who the hell cares, turn it into an aeronose... it can be turned back into a 4 eye if any of you end up BUYING that car. Much easier than trying to turn a cube of crushed car into a streetable Mustang again

Thank you.........I NEVER through parts away. I only sell non-major parts. I have trailers, buses, and 11 acres of cars to store the stuff in. The only thing I have sold is the trans, for 100 bucks (c4) the tail lights 40 a peice, 4 pony wheels it had on it, for 300 with no tires. This helped me get the price down on the car when I purchased from my company. Saved me 480 bucks, that 480 in my pocket and the company will still make money on other nick nacs.

What I don't understand is how people can draw the line at one point but let others slide? He is already changing a lot in the car(a 4.6 in it). Why not make it what you want while doing it. I personally wouldn't change the bumper, but I like 4 eye cars. By the true definition of what everyone is saying that car should be put back 100% stock. In fact any modification to any of our cars is wrong. His time, his money, his car, his way of doing things is the way I look at it.

The most under used thing on this site is the ignore list. I found it years ago, and mine grows with time.

Yep, I am completely building this car my way. I have an original aerocoupe, that is a 5.0L 5 speed, now I want to build a totally different set up on the same car. I can have an old school American Muscle car, with modern day technology and performance. I don't care about the stock 4.2L 255cu V-8 or a dime a dozen C-4 trans. It all ran good, but to be, who wants that 184,000 mile undependable POS? Not me...

I have an 85 GT nose in pretty decent shape that I will sell you cheap if you promise to use it on this car and not go aero nose. I agree the stock 81 nose isnt the most attractive, but save yourself the work and still have a unique car that is still 4-eye and use an 85-86 nose, or even an 82 GT nose like 85_SS_302_Coupe!

DO IT!!

the 81 nose looks like ass, but im still gonna have to say on the aero conversion.

Both the 2.3T and the 5.0 were available in the PC. The 2.3T came only with a five-speed manual and the 5.0 could have either a four-speed manal or a three-speed auto.

The 2.3T was available in various forms from '79 through '86. The most notable are the SVOs and Turbo GTs.

... lame. I've been around the Mustang game for long enough to know that information, I had assumed that being on a mustang board and writing what I did would go without saying. You must be a very literal/analytical man. Don't ask me to tell you the color of my car when theres a picture in front of you.

I had a 86 Hatchback, that I put interior from a 93 in, and the 87-93 quarter windows, but left the 86 front end, it was a beautiful car. Wish I still had it.

BUTCHER??? Who are you calling a butcher????? I work at a salvage yard, 10 years and counting that my dad has owned for 17 years. This car would have been stripped, all parts would be sold, then the perfectly solid, NOTCHBACK body would be crushed!!! One more notch, GONE FOREVER, not destroyed like you think!!!!! My other notch, I have, same thing, it would have been sold for parts and crushed if it wasn't for me. 2.3L auto wrecked to 5.0L 5 speed conversion....98 % factory!!!!

I am the one keeping foxes alive!! When this car is done, that will be number 4 that I have restored and put back on the road!!! I have also restored 7 other Mustangs 94-95, 97 Cobra, and a 00 GT. All that would have been gone.

It's people like you that rain on Mustang enthusiasts parade!!:damnit:

79 5.0pace car....Did you see my before and after shots of my current notch?? Yeah, that was done is 14 days. Engine swap, motor and trans swap, fixing damage, body and paint and rebuilt trans!!! I am a work horse, and you should respect that.

So not only are you a butcher with your personal projects, but you are a butcher in your profession....... You are not making it much better, and to respond to your question about seeing what I have done, well my car has been featured in a national mustang publication and in a few calanders, I think that speaks for itself.

If you guys think a beat up stock pacecar with a blown 2.3 is worth more than a nice EFI 5.0 pacecar then you have another thing commin. Only a very very small number of people would pay more for a stock original 2.3l pacecar than my car. I have had my car appraised, I know what its worth now compared to what its worth in stock form, so dont talk to me like you know anything about my car or early foxes in general.

I think you guys should quit the pissing match. It's his car, he can do what he wants.

I caught a lot of **** for converting my 68 from a 200 I6 3sp to a 351W T5. But when I get in it to drive it, I'm happy, **** what anyone else thinks of it.

If you knew that information, why'd you leave it out? Anybody that doesn't know any better would think they ONLY came with a 2.3T, especially when you're telling him his 5.0 PC is "converted".

How am I supposed to know what you do or do not know when you only tell half the story?

what's funny, is that he's going to get this same blitz of responses EVERYWHERE he goes.

DON'T like the responses buddy?? get used to it. You ARE a butcher. I don't care if you saved that car or not. I'd rather see it get crushed than to have to live a life of wrong identity.

Everywhere you go, they'll make a complete and utter mockery of you for what you have done. You will get NO respect, period.

It's gonna be rough dude, and this thread showcases that fact.

Personally, the 81 nose grew on me, and I love it now. An 81 notch is so distinctive, that I wouldn't change it for the world. It's something more unique than nearly every other notch on the road.

I'm personally working on acquiring a 79 notch, and I wouldn't change a thing to the interior or exterior.

As far as interior's....I'm not much of a fan for that tempo interior in the 87+ mustangs. The leather seats are nice, but that's about it. Nothing spells muscle car more than the dash and door panels of the 79-86 mustangs.

Dude.. its common knowledge to us mustang folk that the 2.3T is a rare engine. thats how he was putting it..

Are you effin kidding me??? your joking right?? I had an 86.. got into an accident, and converted to aero, along with the interior.. Did i get flack? HELL NO everyone loved the car, some made comments until they found out the situation i was in.
For you to make a statement like that shows your ignorance. You would rather see a FOX get crushed because the nose has been changed???? Basically leave the entire outside of that 79 your aquiring stock (that includes wheels there buddy) otherwise you'll changed its identity and require it to be crushed

And basically, if someone gets plastic surgery ( like new boobs) might as well kill them, since ya know, it changes there identity..... wtf....

I am taking that you are referring to me.
I am not your buddy.
I am not a butcher, you just lack imagination and skill.
Nobody will make an utter mockery of me because nobody will be able to tell.
Obviously, you must pay to get your body, paint, engine and trans work done.

To all of those who liked my idea... Slow95GT, MOB, Rigmaroles, FBD, 1990 coupe. thanks for your input and support

To all of those who don't agree...no problem, you have your opinion.

To 79 5.0 Pace Car and v8 only, you obviously have no imagination, and don't dare to be different. You wouldn't even know where to start converting 01 parts to the 81.

Thank you I am done here.

I will. I am taking this slow because with home ownership, working 50 hours, having the L, Cobra, Notch, 4X4, and having a serious girlfriend takes up much of my time also. When I get it done, help me get a sticky up there. Or I can PM you two.

Keep going with it and don't worry what others say. I will say I like the Pace Car and 82 GT nose better than the aero, and even the 85-86 nose... but you wanted aero, so be it.

Am I a hack because I put a Saleen bumper on an aero fox? I must be, I must own junk and have an identity crisis! Hell I debadged and repainted the thing a not stock color... what is wrong with me!

Good god, this thread turned ugly fast. I'll agree with 25th, Coupe and the rest. You die hards are about as much fun as a collectors car club. Mind your own damn business. I've had a number of guys offer me into clubs only to turn them down because its you guys that take away from the HOBBY. I suppose all Model A's should be restored and not hot-rodded too.

That is the most useless post I've seen on the history of stangnet. With that much drama you deserve both to be a guest on Oprah, and a book about how much your life has sucked.
