I was going to mention this earlier, but decided to not add fuel to the fire. Almost every car show you go to, all the older 30's 40's and 50's cars have something done to them that take them away from factory. Why not, it makes it look better, either in general, or to the owner.

You cant tell me that a chopped top '34 ford 5 window coupe doesnt look completely sinister with its non factory equipped V-8 and BIG ASS blower sticking out of the hood.

Im all about standing out from the crowd, and sticking an 01 powerplant in an 81 mustang is pretty damn cool in my book...

Then again, i get flamed constantly for ditching my EFI for a Carb's setup, so i know what youre going through.

Good god, this thread turned ugly fast. I'll agree with 25th, Coupe and the rest. You die hards are about as much fun as a collectors car club. Mind your own damn business. I've had a number of guys offer me into clubs only to turn them down because its you guys that take away from the HOBBY. I suppose all Model A's should be restored and not hot-rodded too.

That is the most useless post I've seen on the history of stangnet. With that much drama you deserve both to be a guest on Oprah, and a book about how much your life has sucked.

hahaha this thread makes me laugh. i couldn't agree more with you rigamaroles. aero fox's look 10000x better than ANY four eye imo, although, 85-86's can look SICK. regardless of what i say, or what rigamaroles says or what v8only happens to mutter, at the end of the day, it's still his car, and it's going to get an aero conversion because that's what he wants. any car done up nicely, aero or 4 eye, or even a conversion gets a thumbs up in my book. you guys do realize, if it's that easy to convert it, it's probably just as easy converting it back when/or if the time comes. i guarantee you all, even you v8only, when he's done with it, if he ever drove past you in that car, i bet you'd say "damn thats a bada$$ MUSTANG"

+1 for the progress thread

I'm not seeing where your imagination and skill are coming in.......would imagination and skill come in from that aero swap???

Glad you've got a "me too" car now, lol.

next time you're down in so cal, pm me,....I'll show you a thing or two on how to wrench.

No, an imagination and skill is taking a peice of junk car and making into a car in which people offer you money to buy when it isn't even for sale. My notchback last year on Woodward had a lot of attention, and I turned down these offers
1. $10,000 as it is
2. $8,500 as it is
3. $6,500 with giving me back my motor, trans rear axle, tires and wheels

NO FOR SALE SIGN. 10K for a stock notchback and he didn't bat an eye when I said it's a 4cyl title.

I can me too about anything, because I have had 11 Mustangs all having different mods. So when someone said I have this...I could say "Yep, me too"

If I was in south central LA like you I couldn't learn anything from you because the lessons would end too soon due to the breakage of your K-mart tools.

Have a nice day.

To 79 5.0 Pace Car and v8 only, you obviously have no imagination, and don't dare to be different. You wouldn't even know where to start converting 01 parts to the 81.

I am a professional mechanic, I fix cars and I restore cars, not only in my free time, but for a living. You are a professional butcher, you destroy cars in both your free time and your career. I am most likely far more qualified and knowledgeable in what it would take to put an 01 drivetrain into an 81. For 1. I have a 79 which is almost identical to the 81, and second, like I said, I fix cars, I dont tear them apart, I have worked on tons of 99+ mustangs at my shop, and my dad has an 03 mach 1 that I've helped him do a lot of work on.

I did dare to be different, I resto-modded a 79 pacecar. You're doing something ford already did. Ford continued the fox body after 86 with the areo nose, and basically continued it to 04 with the modular motor. I will admit however that I like the mod motor swap you're planning.

Thanks for destroying your car and driving the value of mine ever so slightly up. The recking yard would have done it in a more dignified way, but your whole "destroying the car by destroying its identity" way, although less dignified, works too.

You're a professional mechanic, why because you passed a written test at the Secretary of State and got an ASC patch on your shoulder? Do you want a cookie??

As far as driving the value up of your car...You are welcome, I 'm sure you could use the money to take your next ASC test.

You can think what you want, but I am gonna make over $5,000 on this car anyways, so it really doesn't matter much to me.

this thread is funny i have owned both foureyed cars and aeronosed cars and agree with the idea of keeping the original nose or atleast swapping to an 85-86 nose.i do agree that a person has a right to do whatever he wants to do with his car.down the road when it switches hands then i'm sure someone will restore it to its original condition. currently i own an aero 88 t-top but i pretty much love all of them and especially the ones that are customized .give the guy a break the foureyes are definately going up in value and one day we all will appreciate them for what they were and what they stood for when ford was trying to get back into the MUSCLECAR scene.

Ignorance is bliss. For the fanatical few of your four-eye beloved, realise its not as much a taste for some others. You pushing your arrogance around in this thread only shows you to be just that....arrogant.

Perhaps you feel so strongly about the conversion as you wished more people would find their interest in the less interesting. This thread is like high school, you're searching for acceptance in which you cannot find.

Would any of you protagonist's have as much of a voice if he took apart an aero and made it a 4-eye or would you embrace it and go YESSSSSS, SOMEONE ELSE LOVES THE 4-EYE AS MUCH AS I DO AND IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER THAT PEOPLE LIKE A CAR LIKE MINE.....YAYYYYYYYYY...

In all seriousness, get bent. None of you have even a remote rebuttal to my arguments only further proving that you either a) Need to go wax/wash YOUR Mustang and be grateful that you have what YOU like or b) Get laid and quit your bitching about **** you have no control over.

I think that these die hard 4eyer's are getting a litter ridiculous.. I mean come one, your all saying that you would rather see a fox be crushed the changed up and modded. Saying its buchered, and ignoring all the post about the old school hot rods that are changed up with newer parts, and newer noses and so on and so forth.. I can't believe some of you people here that are arguing like this guy is going to hell for swapping the nose. Who the F wants a restored 4cyl 81 notch.... WHO...

Even if it has too far gone, I will start another thread with progress pics. It may take a little because I was dead set on yellow, then I changed my mind to Performance Red. Now I do not know what to tell my paint store to mix up. DAMNIT!!!! Anyways, I know you got my back so let the progress threads begin

Oh, I am changing it to 5 lug disc in all four corners too!!!!!!!!!!!OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHWOOOOOOOO

Then I am gonna take the four eyed bumper and run it over with my loader and set it on fire!!!!!!

lmao... Please take pics and post them. Give it an unsuspecting thread title, but captivating at the same time. Like....boobies on a Mustang, come look! And then when everyone comes into the thread it can be you grinning ear to ear flippin the bird with a forklift getting lowered onto the bumper.

Hey man. I totally understand.

Your just like that gay kid in highschool that acted straight.

So afraid to not fit in , that he just HAD to be exactly like everyone else.

Its cool though. Its a TON of work your going to do, and I can see how you want to just blend right in to the row of other stangs at the car show. To look just like the other 98% that are there. That way you can avoid talking about it to anyone, so no one finds out your secret.

You could never be this guy................

A yellow 79 Notch with a 500+ horse 4 banger.
Its much easier to have your car walked right past as every one checks out a rare car with a 4 banger that will more then likely put whatevery billion valve motor your building to shame

( this is where you say " nah uh! My car is going to be so sweet! and have a million horse and would never get beat by a four banger )

4 pages.............5 people.

Just awesome results already by the way.

(by the way.......... arguing with numbers on the internet is kind of silly with no way to back it up. Besides....... someone can always trump you.
10k for a stock coupe? yawn........... Double it and come up with 4 g's more, and you beat me. (x41 code black 89 5 speed with 2200 miles , top that)

6 Mustangs? Yawn......... I think I have that many right now.
How many in mags? Trust me I got you beat there too. )

GT350R, if you paid attention to the thread, probably 1/6 of the posts were mine. You bring up the amount of pages as a way to emphasize your position on the fence not only makes you look stupid, but confirms it.

Up until you hopped on the bandwagon for the hate train, there was very little if any at all down right dickery or asshatery. Your belligerence belittles you as a man and makes you look like a .

If you've ever heard the quote "Never fight a battle of wits with someone dumber than you, you'll sink to their level and they'll beat you with experience." In that reflection, I wont begin to argue with you. Rather I'll sit back, have a drink and watch you make a fool of yourself, all by yourself.

And for whatever its worth, no one was comparing 4 cylinders to 8 cylinders. We were talking about an 81 clip compared to a 87-93 clip. Just figured I'd fill you in, in case you missed that point. I'll double check though, I'll re-read the whole thread to make sure I'm not arguing about the wrong thing.
