Keep up the GREAT work Matt. As I've SEEN with my OWN eyes, this project is coming along just as good, if not better than the ones past.

Threads like these that get blown out of proportion and hijacked by idiots are why people quit coming on Stangnet.

Shame on some of you people.

What some of you can't get through you think cromag skulls is that SVT32V doesn't give a rats ass about your opinion or not. He wanted to share with people what he's doing. If you don't like that he's not going back to the 4 eye front end, oh Effin well. It's not yours and you don't have to like it.

For those of you calling him a hack and a f@g, go take a look in the mirror. You girls are the ones that sound gay calling him one for re doing a car like HE wants.

What cracks me up is that MOST of you don't have the know how or talent to do such a project, but you can punch keys on a computer and throw your $hitty .02 in.

Wow - it sure got nasty in here! What the heck did I walk into???

I guess I may as well put my $.02 in. I am another one of those who would be in favor of leaving it a 4 eye. I personally think you could have a very unique, nice looking car by keeping it "year correct", but I'm sure it will look sweet as an aero clone. Don't get me wrong, I like both body styles. I'd LOVE to own a '79 pace car or an '82 GT, but I own an '87 and I wouldn't trade it for anything at this point at least.
I understand some peoples rants about leaving 4 eyed cars alone (a lot of them just went overboard). 4 eyes are getting harder and harder to come by, and they are very unique looking cars. HOWEVER, the way this thread got derailed is rediculous, and it's not like the car is getting sent to the crusher or anything. Live with it. Only 1 person owns the car and he can do whatever he wants to it...

Wow .. I hate to see the reaction i get when people see i swapped my nose from a lame ass 84 to an 86gt. And i agree with ram360 catching grief for his hood moreso than his aero nose conversion. I say swap it to an aero nose who the hell cares your already swapping an 01 drivetrain into it so there goes the standard equipment.. Everybody latces onto this save the 4 eye thing. I see more aero nose cars in te boneyard than 4 eyed 9 tmes out of ten. I say keep saving the 4 eyed and crushing the aero nosed cars that way all te 87-93 cars skyrocket in value and let te 4 eyed cars become a dime a dozen..

Agreed. This thread was boobie-trapped from start to finish. Make sure you pick out the thumb tacks in your feet before you leave the thread, may get an infection.

Thanks for destroying your car and driving the value of mine ever so slightly up. The recking yard would have done it in a more dignified way, but your whole "destroying the car by destroying its identity" way, although less dignified, works too.

To all who hate this swap, thanks for giving me a good title and name for the car, and you all made me work harder this weekend, because I wasn't gonna start any paint or engine swap till winter!!!! Now I will work harder and faster!! I will give my self enought time in between one thing and the next to work on all details!

If I didn't have a girlfriend, this entire car would be done before the Woodward Dream Cruise which is August 19th, but I need to spend time with her, so it won't get done till whenever, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.....area

Wow - this thread took a **** quickly.

I just talked to GeeeeteeeeeJay and as he pointed out, you are taking a car that was left for dead and turning it into SOMETHING. Truth be told, the 87+ body and interior is not permanent and can be reversed if you or the next owner ever desire the old 4-eyed look.

And let's be realistic here......with the exception of the pace cars, the 4-popper turbo cars, and a couple other models, these years aren't that desirable to the masses.

Good luck with this project, I look forward to watching it progress.

Check out these ground-shaking numbers for 1981.....

4.2L V8 - 119 HP
2.3L 4-popper - 88 HP
3.3L V6 - 94 HP

OH my goodness, How could I for get about you!!!??? I mentioned you in the first list, then I made this second one because of the last couple of posts. You have had my back since day 1!!!! Look for more picks in Project 81 Hack Job Part II. I will have them up Sunday, I worked on it 5 hours yesterday, planning on 12 today, and 12 Sunday!!
