I was wondering if anybody has converted to Power Steering on there early model mustang. I have a 67 mustang fastback that I would love to convert to power steering but I don't really know how much its going to cost me and I can't seem to find a kit for it anywhere.
I'm in the process of that right now on my '68. I checked with Dallas Mustang and they have a complete kit for $1,400 . I found a local guy selling all parts off a car he was stripping for $200. There are plenty of similar setups on ebay, just make sure you're getting everything you need, including pump brackets, etc. You should count on at least rebuildiing the cylinder, new hoses, and new tie rod ends, and possibly a new idler arm and other parts. I figure I'm probably going to spend an additional $200+ when all is said and done.
