The power steering hose on the pump, came out of the pump. It is just a fitting with 2 rubber seals on it, can I just pop it back in or should I replace the hose?? I don't want to pop it back in if it is just going to keep comming out and making a mess of my engine bay.
Yep, they do this. Been there, had the entire experience.....
The seal is the o ring on the end of the tube on the hose end. The threaded fitting just holds it in the pump. There is an internal expanding metal ring or circlip, similar to what holds a halfshaft into the diff on a front driver, that holds the hose end inside the threaded fitting.
The little metal ring sometimes wears enough to let the hose end slide back out.
