I am inthe process of replacing power steering seals. Since all of the fluid in the system has now drained out into a collection bowl, how do I dspose of it?? Storm drain? City dump?? River or lake?? Help me out so I do the right thing here.

NOT THE BACKYARD, NOT THE SEWER, NOT A RIVER OR A LAKE!!! Holy crap man, I'm planning on having a future, and maybe kids that will have a future...

Anyway, check with your local county dump, as they usually have a hazardous waste desposal site. Or check with your local auto parts store (like Schucks, Discount, Advanced, etc.)... they used to take used motor and transmission oil for free. Been a while since I checked...

I was kidding about the river we already dump enough in the Columbia.

I am pretty sure you cannot mix it with motor oil.

I will call Schmucks tomorrow and let y'all know.

Recycle it with transmission fluid... If your local parts store won't take it, a tranny shop will probably take a small amount from you...
