Has anyone experienced this: As soon as you turn on the AC the engine boggs. By that I mean it looses some power and has a slight hiccup (studder). As soon as the AC is off the car runs very smooth. Any ideas?

My best guess is that the A/C is belt driven, meaning that when you turn the A/C on the compressor puts more stress on the motor because it begins generating, making the motor work harder to turn the belt. This takes away from the power the motor was putting to the rear wheels.
