I like the UPR with the trick handle because of its adjustability and that it was only $99.

I had the tri ax and although it seemed to be very well constructed I just wasnt happy with it. I have a B&M now and even though it doesnt feel as solid it seems like it Wants to shift into the correct gear. Dont know about the 5.0 but from what I have read that would be the shifter I would buy next... This is just my opinion but I would never buy another tri ax, I have been much more happy with my B&M.

Check my sig 4u2nv.

I got a chance a few months ago to row through the gears of an MGW equipped Cobra and it's better than the Pro 5.0 hands down. I just have too much $$ tied up in my current combo to part with it.

Anyone need a Pro 5.0 with MGW adjustable handle and gripper knob? Fit's T56 tyranny only.

I'd like to find someone who has the orange handle MGW to see how it compares to the blue handle I have they no longer make. Just curious about what subtle changes they made. MGW=Shortest Throws.

This post is for those who would like a comparison of the Triax shifter and the Pro 5.0 from someone who has ACTUALLY used both.

I had the Triax Shifter for almost 2 years.
It is a great shifter.
However, it is just too noisy even after using gaskets.
I even placed Dynomat and some rubber dampener to deaden the noise.
This made it quieter but not quiet enough.
Also, it was a bit too notchy and sometimes difficult to shift.

So...
I decided to switch to the Pro 5.0 and give it a try.
WOW! What a difference!
It is MUCH quieter than the Triax even without using a gasket (I'll be ordering another on from http://www.stangshiftergaskets.com/ anyway) and none of the Dynamat and rubber dampener.
It is less notchy and easier to slide into gear with less effort.
I never realized how loud the Triax was until now!
I am extremely happy with the Pro 5.0!

The only negative thing I can say about the 5.0 is the handle is angled straight which places the shifter way to far forward for my taste.
So, I replaced it with my Triax handle.......Perect!
You can actually just get Pro 5.0's medium handle which is just like the Triax.
Just call Pro 5.0 and they will swap it out for free!

Now I know some of you actually like the transmission noise with their Triax and that's fine. But I don't and I'm sure many here would agree.

As far as which one is a shorter throw, they feel IDENTICAL to me.
I don't really think that a shifter can really change the throw distance to move the transmission. I think in order to actually change the throw distance the transmission would have to be changed, not the shifter.
However, the lower positioning of the shifter handle DOES shorten the throw, and both shifters accomplish this.

Also, the Pro 5.0 appears too be better built and even looks cooler (even though you can't see it under the leather boot )

The ONLY thing I like better about the Triax is that you can adjust the handle to be in a HIGH or LOW position. The Pro 5.0 can only be set LOW. This doesn't bother me since I like to lower position anyway.

PRO 5.0 = teh win!

Hope I've helped!

Im going to stand up for the tri-ax. I love it. I really dont consider the noise a problem when using the gasket. It gives the car even more of a muscle car feel. I dont think I could ever go back to the stock shifter. I've never driven a car with Pro 5.0, but I've never heard anyone complain about. Either way, you wont be disappointed
