Pro-M 80mm MAFs for $185 shipped!!!

I have been doing a lot of parts shopping lately and I noticed that a forum member "Redline Racing" over there is an Authorized Advertiser (he's legit) and is selling Pro-M 80mm units for $185 shipped. That is crazy cheap. I've seen people pay more than that for used 77mm units (although, to be fair, the 77mm is awesome and is prettier than the plastic 80mm IMO).

Pro-M has these on sale on their website for $199 + shipping. This would save you mod junkies at least $20 over Pro-M's already low price.

You can email him at redlineracing1@excite.com -- you may have to mention his ad on the Corral classifieds to get that price though.

Order up guys! I'd jump on it if I hadn't just bought a 77mm for my new combo...

That doesn't surprise me that they are going that cheap. I say this because AFM is having a sale on them for 199 a piece and AFM is always higher then everybody else.

Good price. I had mine a month ago from Pro-M for 210$ shipped with filter. Still a great price IMO.

Is the 80mm worth anymore hp over the 75 or 77mm? I just ordered a blow-thru 75mm because it was aluminum and supposedly works better with the bend in the CAI.

datalogging on my car that has probably around 280-300 rear-wheel, I can't see the 80mm adding anymore power than the 77mm..

Exactly.

The 75mm Bullet meter is good for 600 hp
The 87mm Bullet meter is good for 650 hp
The 77mm meter is good for 700 hp
The 80mm meter is good for 800 hp
The 83mm meter is good for 900 hp
The 92mm meter is good for 1,000 hp
The 117mm meter is good for 1,500 hp

what is the stock meter for a 95?

if i have stock ported heads (thumper) and a trick flow street heat intake, would a larger then stock meter make a difference? if so, what size meter should i have? i'm not worried about matching it with the injectors, i have a tweecer...

I believe the stocker is 70mm; someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah you will see a gain from an aftermarket MAF, just don't expect a huge one. Obviously it will help you out more on a modded engine than a stock one (cause it's flowing more air). Honestly, if I were you I'd get a 77mm or 80mm Pro-M and call it a day because either of those will be all you ever need, even if you ended up adding aluminum heads and a supercharger. I'd probably go with an 80mm just because they are so darn cheap right now (on sale $199 + shipping thru Pro-M or $185 shipped on Corral). Can't beat that!

I'll quote you back "exactly".. the pro-m 80 is a good MAF, no issues with what angle its installed at, idles solid, you get a flow chart, and, its cheap.. it won't LOOSE low-end torque if that's what you're thinking, bigger MAF's don't do that as much as biggeer t-body's.. its only a voltage sender really.. The only thing I would like is that I could max out my voltage then I'd get better readability and more accurate tuning.. but that's a minor issue (if that makes sense what I'm saying!) I'd go for it !

on my 96, i installed a 80mm maf and left the injectors stock. well it started pinging like mad and the check engine light went on. o2 sensors were reporting too lean.

it turns out that the maf was calibrated for larger injectors and that was the problem.

the moral of the story: either make sure you have injectors that go with the maf, or get a tuner (e.g. - tweecer) so that you can change the injector duty cycle to match the fuel to the air flow the maf is reporting.

i went the tweecer route.

Pro-M doesn't exist anymore, you bumped a 2 year old thread. The "new Pro-M" is http://www.massairsystems.com. They're the company that was started by the employees who bought out what remained and started a new company.
