Problem getting all 8 injectors working

  • Sponsors (?)

This requires taking the upper intake off..(oh just occurred to me the salt and pepper connectors would work for this!)...This same test made sense to me too, test the car wiring and see what's up. It should be stock, my dad bought this car new and its never been messed with.

I think I just figured out what my inj wiring prob is....2 Documents were just posted over at Corral that say the stock Ford ECU is batch EFI not sequential and the injectors are wired bank 1 to to pin 58 and bank 2 to pin 59. There are NOT 8 individual wires from each injector back to the ECU, like many pinouts I've seen say.

AN A9L. That what I thought too but WE're wrong......the connection between the 2 banks is not in my harness so it has to be in the car and this stuff I found explains my problem perfectly. In the cars wiring inj 1-4 are connected on the ground side and 5-8 are connected.....no way they can be sequential.

Either your car has the wrong harness or someone did a bad repair somewhere. You would only have 2 wires at the ecu for injectors if it was done in the harness.

If it is truly wired batch fire you should have continuity between two sets of four injectors
OR
four sets of two injectors.

I can only be as correct as the information provided to me. You have an 89 with an A9L it should be wired sequential.
I have worked on dozens of these cars and put aftermarket ecus into hundreds of them. This is a you issue

explain this:

I will test the car tomm and prove my theory.
Another doc titled ford_eectch98.pdf posted at Corral by the same guy says this(scroll to bottom and look at pins 58,59):
The table below lists several MCU cabling pinouts. The first is for a Mustang A9L
EEC, used 1989 to 1993 302 MAF, manual transmission applications. The second, for a
1991 Ranger 2.3L Dual Plug EFI Engine (from Mitchell International On-line manual

(c) 1992), was submitted by <[email protected]>. The next three columns
were done by the author and are from the Ford wiring diagrams (yes, I actually
buy the factory manuals) --and they don't use the same naming convention as the
first two.
