The fan might be draining the battery as you drive but the car keeps running. Then when you need to start it again (the starter uses as much juice as anything on the car), it struggles to start.

Check parasitic draw. Anything over 100 mA needs to be addressed (even 100 mA is a lot, but it can be acceptable).

Good luck.

Run it the right way with a controller that runs the fan based on temperature.

Where do you have the temperature sensor plumbed in for the fan controller?

A toggle for a fan on a street car is a mess waiting to happen. You will either forget to turn it off, or even worse, forget to turn it on. Maybe not today, maybe not tommorrow, but eventually.

Look into a DCC control unit for the fan
