PST carbon fiber driveshaft arrived (pic)

Nevermind, just want to show off a little

It's of course lighter than steel or aluminium, but due to the massive joints it is still heavier than I thought. I'm hoping with this I get rid of the vibrations I have now between 90 and 120 mph.
Will be installing it tomorrow morning.

LOL,^ just messin with ya. So how much does it weigh? Aluminum weighs 12-13LBs, stock is 22ish. Just curious on how much these weigh. And what price?

No problem. I don't know Fred Sanford anyway. What is it - a TV show? Not all stuff comes over to german broadcasting.
I tried to hold it like anglers hold their big catches ...

It should be around 9 pounds. But it is the "cheap" version with steel yokes, which retails for $625 at http://www.pstds.com. I got it second hand (but never installed) from a guy who switched over to a T56 tranny for almost the half of the price. Getting an FRPP alum. DS shipped from the States would have cost me more in the end (shipping + customs added).

Ok... sorry....and um Fred sanford is the main charactor on Snaford and Son the 1970s sitcom. Insanely funny and very racist (he is an old black man...doesnt like whites,portaricans(sp),spanish, gays, or his sister-in-law Ester) show LOL.

I just finished installing the driveshaft. Took it for a short test drive on the Autobahn up to 140mph and felt no more vibrations as I did before.
Over the weekend I'll do a 600mls-trip with the car - let's see if the vibrations come back again then (I hope not).

The CF driveshaft weights 11.5 pounds (put it on a scale) and that's what the web page says also. With aluminium yokes the weight would be 3 pounds less. The good thing is, that it is actually smaller in diameter than the stock steel shaft. I had clearance issues before due to bad fitting of my flowmaster mufflers, so an aluminium driveshaft would had never been fitted.

twogts4us: $625 would have been too much for me, too - but I got it cheaper second hand. So don't complain about the rich germans (with probably bad english grammar).

Nice driveshaft. The cool thing i've heard from some guys using them is there is a rebound effect with the carbon fiber. Kind of like a rubber band. Where the power is absorbed into the driveshaft and sprung back out like a whiplash. Not sure how true it is but i've heard it from more then one source. And since its actually smaller in diameter then the stocker that would help alot of us with clearance issues. I thought about an aluminum piece but i'm tight already. Nice pick up!
